Containment Division

Intro

The Triform Axle

The Engineering Component is the Containment Department responsible for the construction and upkeep of Authority sites all over the world, and the ones beyond it, as well as managing their infrastructure. Being also the ones responsible for bringing the design plans of Prolab to reality with the greatest of detail, ensuring no mistakes when it comes to the containment of anomalies. They are the greatest minds the Authority has to offer, and they make display of it in every single thing they build.

The Biomechanical Module is the coalition of many new engineering groups that have sprung up with the recent exponential increase in technology over the last few years. They are the main provider of some of the Authority's best utility and defensive technology, such as the Omniversal Diving Apparatus, the BTL-34-A1 Battle Mech, and the ECh-Canon mechanical eye.

It is also home to the Faber Ferrarius, or "Smiths", one of the very first Divisions of the Authority's predecessor, the Auctoritas Imperata. These long-time generational engineers, metalworkers, and designers take great pride in both their seniority and long-time service to the Authority, which often puts them at odds with the younger members of the Biomech, such as the recently established Prosthetic and Augmentations departments.

The Prolab, as it is colloquially called, is a specialized research and bureaucratic department responsible for creating effective Containment Protocols for RPCs. A mix of scientists, engineers, and liaison officers, the Prolab has an equal hand in the construction blueprint for a cell and the highly specific instructions given to site guards.

Frequently working with specialists from Research, security experts from Protection, and engineers from the Component, the Prolab represents the heart of their Division's mission: to build the shackles so Research can do its job and Protection's effort and blood is not wasted.

The ASF, also known as Authority Security Force, is the defense wing in the Containment Division responsible for the general defense, security, and coordination of logistics within the Authority's sites, mobile command centers, and listening stations. The ASF serves as a rapid response force in the event of an internal or external threat within Authority installations, being able to rapidly organize its manpower within minutes of an occurring incident. All ASF personnel are additionally trained to specialize in various combat and support roles.

Personnel who excel in their duties may be provided various opportunities to advance in rank through available induction courses in order to obtain non-commissioned or commissioned officer designations. Upon graduation, personnel will be prepared to issue and relay commands to subordinate personnel and assume control over individual sections of garrisoned units.

While senior commissioned officers are charged with the administration of individual ASF garrisons at their respective facilities, all ASF personnel adhere to a centralized command structure, with central command being the senior-most platform. All orders pertaining to the function of the ASF and its personnel are issued or modified by central command and serve as the final authority.

Maintenance Union

The Union is the department responsible for the general representation of miscellaneous site staff. Janitors, cooks, low-level technicians and logistics personnel, and others; the people that keep the lights on, the facilities livable, and equipment maintained. Giving a voice to low-level staff in Containment is often seen as strange by the other Divisions, yet behind the absurdity is a time-proven expedience.

The employee representation and subsequent increase in employee morale is a secondary benefit; the true purpose of the Maintenance Union lies in the procedure errors and missteps of laboratory staff, guards, and others that are often noticed by low-level staff before anyone else. Slight deviations from the norm in maintenance tunnels and lonely hallways can indicate an imminent containment breach; the only ones placed to observe these are low-level staff.

Sending these reports up to other Departments and Divisions prevents unnumbered disasters in all corners of the Authority. Deceptively powerful in the specific & eccentric ways that janitors often are, the Union is scrappy, proud, and found in every corner of the Authority.

Confined & Disposable Resources

C&D Resources manages all housing, acquisitions, and logistics of subjects for involuntary testing, used for impromptu emergency disposal of dangerous or anomalous material, serving in investigative operations with unknown, potentially lethal factors, and for general Protectorate fodder. The C&D's prime directive is limiting undue and inhumane use of CSDs (Confined Subject Disposables), and ensuring all efforts are made to preserve their safety and well beings.

Sub-Departments:

  • Disposition: Approves CSD requests and handles CSD safety-assurance
  • Upkeep: Maintains the living space and morale of CSDs
  • Acquisitions: Acquires new CSDs through various external sources
  • Logistics: Transports CSDs between sites and locations

Department of Communications

To truly secure its independence from powerful national governments and rival organizations, the Authority requires rapid and utterly secure communication links between its scattered presence on every continent of the Earth - and beyond. In reality, this translates to a shadow network of cables and satellites, robust and advanced, able to weather anomalous disasters and the best efforts of rival spies.

The Department of Communications oversees the maintenance and construction of this vital web; serving as technical consultants in every Site, working with the Engineering Component in the field, and obfuscating the records whenever a surveyor or diver finds a comms cable where none should be.

Keeping the phone and data lines open at any cost; often unsung and unknown, the Comms Department knows the absolute vitality of its work.

Containment Tone

Containment Division has two Tones; one for the Authority Security Force, and another for the Protocol Laboratory.

The ASF Tone is used for the cataloguing of incidents of different gravities and characteristics, all with their own designations for filing. Catalogued incidents may involve one or more anomalies, and can be written after they have been resolved, or while they are ongoing. The main portion of the article is a time-line of the event, in which individual occurrences are detailed, and is immediately followed by a report of damages, casualties and costs incurred.

The Prolab Tone details the process of a Protocol Team figuring out the functioning of an anomaly, carrying out numerous tests and cataloguing prior incidents for the purpose of developing proper protocols. Each document has a laconic description of the artifact, as well as tentative safety measures for the team to observe while testing, followed by an arrangement of testing logs, incidents, and any and all pieces of relevant information the Protocol Team can get its hands on could help for the production of the final Protocol. It is significantly less formal due to its internal nature, filled with notes from members of the team, and concludes in a sketch of the Containment Protocol, along with necessary materials and personnel for it to be put in place.
