Registered Phenomena Code: XXX

Object Class: Alpha-White

Hazard Types: Ideological Hazard, Contact Hazard, Emotional Hazard

Containment Protocols: Located instances of RPC-XXX are to be destroyed. The one instance in Authority possession is to be kept in a standard alpha level locked box and is to be removed only for testing with the permission of one level 2 researcher. Subjects are to be provided a bed for testing. Suicidal subjects are to be given therapy or medical care if it is deemed necessary.

Description: RPC-XXX was initially packaged in a cardboard box with the Amazing.Co! logo printed on the top right corner and text in bubble font below it reading: "Don't know the purpose of you life!? Down in the dumps!? Then use the meaning machine by us! Purpose guaranteed!” printed in bubble font right below it. RPC-XXX is a 10cm tall bronze statuette of a nude woman holding up the Islamic hilal in its right hand, a cross in the left, and the star of David engraved into the forehead.

RPC-XXX's anomalous property is activated when a human being has skin contact with it. Immediately after contact the subject will go into REM sleep for 10-15 hours. During this time the subject will always have a vivid dream that lasts for at least 10 minutes.1 When they awaken the subject will have new “purpose” or “goal” in life and will do anything in their power to achieve or acquire this goal. After 2 years if they lose hope of achieving the goal they will become extremely depressed with a 60% chance of suicide.2 Alternatively if they do achieve the goal they will have long lasting contentment. If they simply don’t achieve the goal or purpose but still have hope of achieving it their state of mind will depend partly on their progress.
