I've never reviewed a tale before; I tend not to form strong opinions on them. However, I felt the urge to downvote this one, and I don't like to downvote pages without explaining why, so here I go.

+ review

- review

The first thing I'll point out is the formatting. It's dry and unappealing, and often uses colors that are hard to read against the background. Also, unlike this tale's spiritual successor, there's no interspersed description of events happening on-screen. That's a real let-down, because it's the best use of the tale format and adds so much to the actual "TV" effect. Its significance cannot be overstated.

The beginning of this tale's comedy is just reference humor. I'd associate this kind of "offensive" joke with 2018 tryhard-ness, but this tale actually significantly misses that window. Not that I care too much about that either way; what value does this have as a joke? "You get the reference, so laugh." This would hardly be passable in a Discord meme channel, let alone as a piece of creative writing.

With the obvious reference out of the way, I do like the whimsical way it humanizes anomalies.

It’s not our fault that we would drain the oceans as if drinking from a pond, or kill humans by crying and making them all depressed, or start global wars between humans. It’s all just in our nature.

This is my favorite line in the tale.

The Amazing! Co. ad feels like a "weirdcore" Reddit post. The pun is kinda funny though. Speaking of things that are admittedly pretty funny, I can't say I saw it coming when the GLM spokesperson turned out to be the anomaly that exists to stir up global conflict.

This does have a few funny jokes, but it would need to be longer and more imaginative throughout to really have merit. Were this to be a series of tales, I might've appreciated it as a kind of "guilty pleasure", but that's evidently not the case. It just carries a vibe of "I don't need to put in effort as long as I can tap into the bare basics of what appeals to the community". 2/5

- review

I like your tale, but you shouldn't vote on your own work. Many people frown on that.
