Here's my review (Bear in mind I have never written an article of my own, so take everything with a grain of salt):

+ review

- review

First off, this article has a lot of weird tone mistakes. I would have removed all of these myself, but I feel like some of them would be too extreme. I'm not going to spend forever listing each and every one, but here are a few for reference:

The second sentence of the description is redundant, mentioning the fire twice.

There are plenty of instances where I think the word "that" could be inserted to sound more formal:

"…it is clear they possess extensive knowledge…" could be "…it is clear that they possess extensive knowledge…"

"…despite the fact they’re aware of…" could be "…despite the fact that they’re aware of…"

The recording logs seem to value tone over grammatical accuracy, which I don't think is something that the Authority would do.

A lot of commas are missing.

Some of these seem to have been intentional, to convey tone, but I don't think that belongs in an RPC article. For example, "nazis still exist and I’m not talkin about larpers either". Also, I'm pretty sure "Nazi" should be capitalized.

A lot of them just seem to be errors? For example, "You know Jim I miss eating food."

The word "yeah" is spelled many different ways, which probably shouldn't happen in a formal transcript.

All occurrences of "fuckin" and "talkin" should have apostrophes at the end.

RPC-304-2's third line in the second log lacks punctuation.

Okay, I ended up spending forever listing almost each and every one. Sorry for that.

As for the writing, it's pretty lackluster. I could understand why some people might find the idea itself flawed, but I personally didn't have a problem with it. The biggest problem to me was that it didn't end on anything particularly interesting, but that might be a subjective issue? Sure, they brought up the Authority in the last recording, but the article itself already made it clear that they were aware of their existence.

Some of the lines seemed too on-the-nose to me (for example, there's probably a better way to get the point that they don't require food across than "You know Jim I miss eating food").

I gave this article a 3/5, because I was feeling nice, and because I think this article could be saved from deletion? I mean, that assumes that the author will fix it up, which I doubt, considering that their last activity was in July. I would personally be down to try my hand at rewriting this, if that's a thing I'm allowed to do.

- review
