The best things on the site include believable facts and theories! If you have education in an area put it out there, others ask away. I have some medical training myself.
Here's a few useful links to keep in mind:

Dreams. Each man longs to pursue his dream. Each man is tortured by this dream, but the dream gives meaning to his life. Even if the dream ruins his life, man cannot allow himself to leave it behind. In this world, is man ever able to possess anything more solid, than a dream?

Does anyone know what the "beginner" guns for a person learning marksmanship would be? The "intermediate"? The "expert"?
Beginners usually start with bolt-action .22s. No recoil, cheap ammo, less dangerous. Some people just stick with .22 caliber rifles for life (eg Olympic target shooting).
Next up, depends on context really. You might move up to larger pistol-caliber carbines, or something in a midsize or full-size round. Someone learning to hunt would probably learn on substantially smaller rounds than someone learning to shoot in a military context, unless they're hunting really, really big game.
Thank you.
Are there different terms for hunting shooting and military shooting?
Alright, I’m going to pop in here for some stuff you should know when writing about MST weaponries.
First up: “Standard” weapons.
When writing, you should use the name of the weapon they use, like “M16 A1” over “Standard Rifle”. The reason being, there is no standard. All models of guns are unique, and the closest thing to a standard is the “1911”.
So, when writing, instead of using “Standard Rifle”, use “Foundation Issue Rifle”, “Standard Issue Rifle”, or similar phrases instead.
Second up, “Assault” weapons.
Assault weapons are a name used in propaganda. AK 47s never were “Assault” weapons until people reclassified them as so.
According to the US military, the official definition would be, “Selective action weaponry”, which are able to switch between semi-automatic and automatic.
Rather, it is a better idea to say “Automatic rifle”.

Selective action weaponry should be called select fire.
As for assault weapons you should note that assault rifles do exist (the two are often confused), and are intermediate caliber medium range select fire rifles. Something like the original AK-47 is an assault rifle, but is not an assault weapon. But the semi auto AKM-47s that are commonly owned in the US would not be considered assault rifles.
Other than that, damn good advice. A lot of people confuse similar model weapons and who made what under licence so don't be afraid to ask for help!
I have a background in arms and munitions as well as Biology and a bit of Chemistry so feel free to ask me about that stuff. Also if the post I'm replying to is anything to go by, then SomeoneWhoHasAname would also be a good source for arms and munitions.

I can help with IT questions as well, because I'm a Cloud Partner of Microsoft and have certificates in various areas related to general system administration and programming/development for my old job from major leaders in the industry.
