There is a really cool and spooky idea here, but it's overshadowed by a half-hearted description and the author's impatience to throw someone to die in it. I, too, was looking forward to that part, but it never gives the anomaly much substance as to why it actually behaves the way it does beyond "fucking stupid Soviet cunts and their fucking experiments". Sure, strange unexplained experiments of a bygone era, but there's always untapped potential to leave it just at that without covering some reason for the reader to infer. I could have overlooked this if it wasn't much of the article's content to begin with.
Putting that aside, the logs briefly touched the very surface of what makes a diminishing world intriguing to me. It vaguely reminded me of one of my absolute favorites, SCP-3001. But it didn't do anything beyond that from its strange imagery of molecular imagery at best and goofily mechanical tone at worst.
