Registered Phenomena Code: 443

Object Class: Omega-White

Hazard Types: Incorporeal, Sentient

Containment Protocols: Current containment efforts are focused primarily on the recovery of recorded RPC-443 sightings, with priority given to instances that are especially concerning in nature.

Authority webcrawler Γ-4982 (“CAMEO”) has been assigned to search for and catalogue any digital media in circulation that possibly includes RPC-443 and, depending on the security risk posed by the sighting’s context, remove it from public viewing. Physical media is to be collected by embedded Authority personnel.

If possible, RPC-443 is to be immediately apprehended on sight and contained for questioning.

AM-443-P-73: The 2018 X-ray Computer Tomography Application Technology Symposium, held by the CHSNDT in Jiangsu Province, China. RPC-443 has been highlighted in yellow.

Description: RPC-443 is a humanoid resembling an East-Asian male between 20 and 25 years old, with short black hair and a lean build. It is approximately 1.76 meters in height (5'8"). It is observed to always be wearing a dark-gray jacket with a white undershirt, black jeans, and sneakers.

RPC-443 has yet to be sighted physically, and appears exclusively in photographs and video recordings. Although collected media varies in context, RPC-443 is frequently sighted in locations that are normally inaccessible to civilian personnel or even inhospitable for human life.

RPC-443 never interacts directly with recorded individuals, and most of its sightings depict it observing from afar, briefly inspecting surrounding objects, or simply “passing by”. Individuals who were present during RPC-443 sightings, when interrogated, are unable to recall physically noticing the entity.

Attempts to track down RPC-443’s movements via security footage have failed, as it appears to simply disappear when out of view; for example, turning a corner, or entering a spareroom. Evidence collected at the site of RPC-443 sightings indicate that the entity can manipulate its surroundings to an extent, as it has occasionally moved objects around and tampered with machinery.

As of writing, there are currently █████ collective photographs and recordings of RPC-443 in the Authority’s possession.

Addendum: The following is a partial log of notable examples of RPC-443.

AM-443-V-17

Recovery Date: 10-07-2011

Contents: Security footage from inside the residence of philanthropist ████ ██████ in Auckland, New Zealand. RPC-443 is seen viewing one of the paintings in Mr. ██████'s private art gallery, when it accidentally knocks over a marble statuette while turning. AM-443-P-162

Recovery Date: 02-06-2022

Contents: Photograph of the lava lake inside the Halemaʻumaʻu crater, within the Kīlauea volcano in Hawaii. Though hard to notice (in part due to the distance of the photograph taken), a figure resembling RPC-443 can be seen standing near the edge of the crater, glancing down at the pool of lava below.

Additional Notes: At the time of shooting, civilians were not permitted to enter in close proximity of the crater.

Incident 443-A1: On June 7th 2023, at approximately 9:22 A.M., RPC-443 manifested inside one of the server rooms in Site-038's Administrative Core. The entity was spotted by security cameras, pacing aimlessly in the corridors and quietly observing the servers lined up along the walls.

Security personnel were immediately alerted, and as staff entered the room RPC-443 ran toward the exit. In the ensuing chaos, RPC-443 successfully evaded 5 guards while making a beeline toward the doorway, after which it promptly de-manifested.

Anticipating a possible security breach, a thorough search-and-inspection was organized in Site-038, and continued until it was confirmed that none of the site's facilities had been tampered with.

18 hours after the incident, Captain Antonie Delak, the director of Site Security, received the following phone-call on their personal number. Dialogue has been translated from Mandarin Chinese.

<Begin Log>

Delak: Hello?

Unknown: Yes, hello?

Delak: [Pause.] Hello, who is this?

Unknown: Listen. I just want to explore our world, please. Thank you.

Delak: I'm sorry, who—

[The caller proceeds to hang up.]

<End Log>

The number was traced back to a public payphone in the suburbs of Kowloon.
