Containment Protocols: Authority personnel assigned to RPC-452 are to monitor reports of recovered missing persons within Grand Teton National Park. Recovered individuals reporting contact with RPC-452 are to be detained and transferred to Site-076 for post-encounter interviews. Following interview procedures, affected individuals must be administered amnestics and implanted with falsified memories to facilitate successful reintegration into society.

The Authority is coordinating with the U.S. National Park Service to disseminate disinformation campaigns concerning RPC-452. Fabricated missing persons reports have been issued to distort accurate disappearance statistics.

AET-4522 has been assigned primary responsibility for the study of RPC-452. Following recent incidents, an RSS3 unit has been attached to AET-452 to provide security during ongoing investigations.

Description: RPC-452 is a phenomenon localized within Grand Teton National Park and is theorized to account for approximately 25% of missing persons cases reported in the region. Testimonies from recovered individuals consistently describe the anomaly with highly uniform details.

Affected subjects frequently report an initial sensation of being observed or pursued by a predatory animal immediately prior to the onset of RPC-452’s anomalous effects. Documented manifestations include:

  • Abrupt cessation of all ambient sound within the affected area.
  • Complete disappearance of local fauna.
  • Dissipation of the previously reported sensation of being observed.
  • Sudden appearance of a golden luminescent fog, signifying the subject’s transition into RPC-452-B.
  • The manifestation of RPC-452-A.

The sequence of these manifestations varies between individual encounters.

RPC-452-A is described as a humanoid entity suspended within three intersecting, continuously rotating rings. Its apparent size varies between observers. Witness descriptions of RPC-452-A’s composition vary, though the most consistent accounts describe it as being composed of refined gold or radiant light. In all documented encounters, RPC-452-A extends its right arm to indicate the subject while remaining stationary at the center of RPC-452-B.

RPC-452-B is a finite pocket reality hypothesized to be generated by RPC-452-A. RPC-452-B manifests as a precise replica of the environment occupied by the subject immediately prior to transition. Its borders are consistently described as a dense, opaque black fog.

Subjects are unable to identify the exact transition point between baseline reality and RPC-452-B. Recovered individuals report re-emergence into baseline reality through one of three methods:

  • Physical contact with RPC-452-B’s border.
  • Loss of consciousness (including sleep) within RPC-452-B.
  • Remaining within RPC-452-B for a precise duration of one hour.

Subjects transitioning back to baseline reality reappear at the same physical location they previously occupied within RPC-452-B.

Temporal progression within RPC-452-B is markedly accelerated. Collected data indicates that one second within RPC-452-B corresponds to approximately one day in baseline reality.

Discovery: On January 1st, 1991, Thomas J. Lawson and his 12-year-old son, Jacob D. Lawson, were camping in Grand Teton National Park when they were attacked by an Ursus americanus4. Thomas, armed with a baseball bat, successfully repelled the animal, sustaining only minor injuries. During the altercation, Jacob fled the area in a panic and subsequently disappeared. Despite extensive search efforts conducted by local rangers and law enforcement, no trace of Jacob was discovered. Official search operations were formally terminated on May 1st, 1991.

On January 25th, 2000, hikers Yousef and Jain Jones discovered a lost child along their usual route. The child was escorted to a local ranger station and subsequently identified as Jacob D. Lawson. Notably, Jacob had not physically aged since the day of his disappearance in 1991. An Authority agent, operating under the cover of local law enforcement, was dispatched to investigate and, if necessary, retrieve Jacob for further study. The following interview was conducted between the assigned agent and Jacob.

Jacob D. Lawson was transferred to Site-076 for further study. Medical and psychological examinations revealed no anomalous properties. Authority researchers theorized that Jacob had entered an alternate reality through a localized spatial threshold located within Grand Teton National Park.

Authority reconnaissance teams were dispatched to the area in an attempt to locate the anomaly encountered by Jacob Lawson. No anomalous threshold was identified. Lawson was subsequently returned to his family, who were administered amnestics and implanted with falsified memories to facilitate reintegration.

Over the following years, additional recovered missing persons presented similar testimonies consistent with alternate reality displacement. On 09/04/2002, the phenomenon was officially designated RPC-452, and AET-452 was established to coordinate long-term research.

Addendum: On 09/06/2015, Dr. Haigen Heinz, lead researcher of AET-452 and acting director of the RPC-452 project, disappeared while conducting fieldwork in Grand Teton National Park. Search-and-rescue operations failed to yield any trace of Dr. Heinz or his equipment. He was officially declared MIA on 11/12/2015.

On 12/24/2022, an unmarked civilian vehicle approached Site-076’s outer security checkpoint. The driver was identified as Dr. Heinz. Despite seven years having elapsed in baseline reality, Dr. Heinz was found in identical condition to the day of his disappearance, exhibiting no biological aging or degradation. Dr. Heinz claimed direct contact with RPC-452-A.

The following is a debriefing document authored by Dr. Heinz and submitted to Dr. Clarence:

Dr. Heinz is currently confined to Site-076's psychological ward in order to assess psychological fitness. Dr. Clarence has been promoted to the Head Researcher of AET-452.
