Containment Protocols: RPC-526 is secured in a standard storage locker in Site-033. Testing on RPC-526 may only be authorised by personnel with Security Clearance 3 and above. RPC-526 must always be set to a mass of 1x10¹⁵ kg or less¹. Testing of RPC-526 is to be conducted in a secure, airtight room, where only RPC-526 and CSD personnel are allowed. CSD personnel are to be monitored via a surveillance camera at all times. CSD personnel are to be terminated if they begin to use RPC-526, whether to breach containment or escape the facility.

All tests are to be logged, including the date, CSD code, and additional information, as well as the results of the test.

In light of Incident-026-1, RPC-526 is not to be brought onto any vehicle, and it to be carried and transported on foot if ever deemed necessary. RPC-526 is to be sealed in a lead-lined suitcase at all times during transportation, and is to be carried alone, with no other object in the same suitcase.

Description: RPC-526 is a white cylindrical disc measuring a width of 6.0 cm and a height of 0.75 cm. RPC-526 has a logo imprinted on the center of its backside, that seems unable to be removed by any normal means. The logo consists of a ring, and the latter ‘A’ on top of it, stylized to appear similar to the symbol closely related with Anarchism.

Upon human contact with RPC-526, a light beep is heard and an interface appears on the opposite side of RPC-526. The interface is made up of a circular slider bar, inside of which is a tick as well as a cross. Sliding the bar to any position, then selecting the tick activates its anomalous effects. Selecting the cross causes the interface to disappear, supposedly switching RPC-526 off.

Selecting the tick causes the person who has activated RPC-526, hereby referred to as RPC-526-1, to suddenly increase in density. After this, RPC-526-1 will weigh anywhere between 1500 kg and 7.3x10²² kg². The slider determines how much mass the individual will gain, based on a logarithmic scale.

The increase in mass of the individual can occur regardless of the distance between said individual and RPC-526, and will cause the same problems expected with such an increase in mass, with the exception that the individual does not appear to suffer any side-effects from the sudden increase in mass, and has no problem with movement. Due to the significant increase in gravitational force, objects will become gravitationally attracted to RPC-526-1. At the highest setting, RPC-526-1 can cause significant impact on the tides and manmade structures around them. Tsunamis will begin to form if RPC-526-1 is near the coast, and buildings will topple under the strong gravitational force of attraction towards RPC-526-1³. This likely leads to death en masse for the population within ███ km of RPC-526-1.

These effects last for varying amounts of time, with this amount of time decreasing as the mass of RPC-526-1 increases. At lowest settings, RPC-526's effects can last up to 24 hours, while at the highest setting, RPC-526's effects last only 5 minutes. It is unknown if these two factors are related in a linear fashion, or in some other way.

Test 02: 24/10/19██

Subject: CSD-4167
Test Materials: RPC-526, 1 blue ballpoint pen, 1 piece of blank A4 paper
Procedure: Subject was asked to set RPC-526 to the lowest setting, and write his name on the A4 paper.

Result: Subject activated RPC-526 and wrote his name onto the piece of paper without incident.

Test 03: 25/10/19██

Subject: CSD-4167
Test Materials: RPC-526, 1 blue ballpoint pen, 1 piece of blank A4 paper
Procedure: Subject was asked to set RPC-526 to 1x10⁸ kg, and write his name on the A4 paper.

Result: The piece of paper immediately became stuck onto CSD-4167's shoulder as he activated RPC-526. The ballpoit pen was also observed moving towards CSD-4167, along the table on which it was set. CSD-4167 expressed mild difficulty in removing the paper from his shoulder, however managed to do so after 2 minutes and wrote his name without incident.

Test 05: 07/04/19██

Subject: CSD-4209
Test Materials: RPC-526, 1 9mm pistol, loaded with two bullets.
Procedure: Subject was asked to set RPC-526 to 1x10¹⁰ kg, before holding the gun away from him and firing at a mounted target 20m away. Subject was then asked to increase RPC-526 to 1x10¹² kg, and to do the same

Result: Subject activated RPC-526, at which point the revolver appeared to become stuck to CSD-4209's chest. Subject expressed considerable difficulty in removing the pistol, but managed to do so after 3 minutes. Subject fired the pistol without incident, hitting the target.

Subsequently, subject increased RPC-526's setting to 1x10¹² kg and reactivated it. The pistol was violently pulled from subject's hand, towards his chest with considerable force. Subject expressed that it was significantly more difficult to remove the pistol. Subject fired the pistol without incident, hitting the target. However as subject moved closer to the target, both bullets became dislodged and moved towards the subject at high velocity. Both bullets pierced through the subject's sleeve, and became embedded into the subject's skin. Later analysis of the test footage revealed the bullets to be travelling at a speed comparable to a gunshot.

Test 06: 19/04/19██

Subject: CSD-4209
Test Materials: RPC-526, 1 9mm pistol, loaded with a single bullet.
Procedure: Subject was asked to set RPC-526 to 1x10¹⁵ kg, before holding the gun away from him and firing at a mounted target 20m away.

Result: Subject activated RPC-526, at which point the pistol was violently ripped from subject's hand, towards his chest. This resulted in a broken rib.

Test 07: 24/05/19██

Subject: CSD-4209
Test Materials: RPC-526, 1 9mm pistol, loaded with a single bullet.
Procedure: The pistol was mounted on a pedestal, 1.3m above the ground, and secured with a steel holder. Subject was asked to set RPC-526 to 1x10¹⁵ kg, before pulling the trigger of the pistol to fire it at a mounted target 20m away.

Result: Subject activated RPC-526, and noticed significant bending of several sections of the steel holder. Subject also noticed a significant force of attraction towards the pedestal. Upon firing the pistol, the pistol exploded, causing pieces of metal to be ejected around the room. Subject was wounded by 3 pieces of steel which had each lodged themselves inside the subject's thigh, shoulder and face.

Frame-by-frame analysis of test footage later revealed that the bullet that was fired managed to reach a displacement of 70 cm from the pistol before being pulled backwards by CSD-4209's force of attraction. The bullet had returned into the nose of the pistol with a velocity considerably higher than that of a gunshot, igniting the leftover gunpowder and causing the pistol to explode.

Test 12: 03/12/19██

Subject: CSD-4545
Test Materials: RPC-526, CSD-4546
Procedure: Subject was asked to set RPC-526 to 1x10²⁰ kg.

Result: Subject activated RPC-526, causing CSD-4546 to be violently pulled towards him, with an estimated velocity of ██ m s^-1. The impact terminated both personnel. However, the significant impact flung subject into a wall of the room, resulting in massive structural failure of the light containment sector of Site-033. It is to be noted that this is not only due to the subject's extreme weight being thrown against the wall, but also the large gravitational force of the subject pulling the room's walls towards him. This led to the collapse of several buildings within the light containment sector, along with the containment breach of █ other anomalies. The resulting damage has been estimated to cost around ██ billion dollars to repair.

Note from Head Researcher: Any mass above 1x10¹⁵ kg has shown to cause significant stress on the infrastructure of the buildings around it. While we have been able to repair much of the damage, and have further strengthened a large portion of the infrastructure, it is important that we make sure such an event does not occur again. Researchers are now prohibited from setting RPC-526 to any mass above 1x10¹⁵ kg, and will meet severe disciplinary action if found doing so.

Open Incident Report 526-01

Welcome, Researcher.

The following information was finalised and compiled by Clearance Class 4 archivists, who were later administered Class A amnestics before being transferred to work with RPC-███. Containment protocol was updated ██ January 19██ in lieu of the incident.

Note: The following information has been compiled based on many assumptions, which only reflect the best guesses of researchers and archivists viewing the available security footage.

██ July 19██

13 06: RPC-526 is secured in a small lead-lined container. Five (5) Clearance Level 1 personnel from board an Authority helicopter⁴. It is unknown which agent was in possession of the container at this time.

13 15: Helicopter takes off from a makeshift helipad atop the ████████ Morgue in India and makes its way toward the Pacific Ocean. Flight patterns from other missions between India and North America suggest the helicopter flew in a general north-eastern direction over China and the Pacific Ocean. In has been inferred that the helicopter also flew at an altitude roughly equal to 10.5 km.

13 18: Helicopter currently flying over southern China. One (1) Clearance Level 1 personnel, designated PoI-526-4, opens the container, presumably checking its contents. PoI-526-4 is wearing thick cotton gloves with rubber padding. Security cameras show no reaction induced in RPC-526. PoI-526-4 returns objects into the container after 1 minute and 3 seconds of examination. PoI-526-4 sets the container in a baggage compartment near the ceiling of the helicopter. Flight continues without incident.

13 51: Helicopter experiences turbulence, causing equipment from the baggage compartment to fall out. In particular, the container housing RPC-526 falls to the center of the helicopter. It is unknown whether PoI-526-4 shut the container properly before, however RPC-526 falls out of the container regardless. PoI-526-4 hurriedly attempted to return the object into the container. However, upon contact with RPC-526, its effects took hold. Security footage shows that RPC-526 was not in an activated state at the time.

13 52: PoI-526-4 estimated to reach a mass of █x10²² kg, ██% of the maximum allowed by RPC-526. This caused all loose items, personnel and scraps of metal to be gravitationally attracted to PoI-526-4. Due to unknown reasons, the helicopter engine also ceases working, likely due to components within being broken by the sheer gravitational force of PoI-526-4.

13 53: Helicopter begins to descend at a speed estimated to be ██ m s^-1. Pieces of metal are ripped of the helicopter and flung towards PoI-526-4, who is presumably dead at this point.

13 55: Helicopter crashes into an undisclosed location in the Pacific Ocean. Crash witnessed by a nearby cruise ship said to be much larger than expected. Nearby cruise ship also appeared to experience the gravitational effects of PoI-526-4, moving uncontrollably towards the sinking aircraft. Waves are reported to form more than 5 km away from PoI-526-4, and reach at maximum height of around 60 m.

13 57: Cruise ship is hit by a multitude of waves, and is overturned. Of the estimated 3500 individuals on board, 4 survivors were found and rescued by Authority personnel.

14 00: Gravitational effects of PoI-526-4 cease. Helicopter estimated to be around 320 m below sea level at this point. No survivors from the helicopter have been found.

Final Notes: The helicopter was later found to have taken the form of a large ball of metal, and its remains were discovered 23 hours later by a Authority recovery team. It is unknown how, but RPC-526 was also found, sealed within the same container it was intended to be contained in, and appeared completely unharmed.

Interrogation of survivors took place after full recovery, which took up to 4 weeks for one of the survivors. They were later all administered Class A amnestics and released to the public on ██ September 19██.
