Hazard Types: h-incorporeal.png Incorporeal Hazard h-visual.png Visual Hazard

Containment Protocols: RPC-676 is contained within a 38 cm x 38 cm x 38 cm anomalous items locker in the Alpha-sector of Site-007 and is protected by a locker password.

It is currently estimated that RPC-676 will become useable again on the 4th of December, 2021.

Description: RPC-676 is a necklace constructed out of silver beads and a miniature dove symbol, all connected by an enamel-based string-the total length of RPC-676 measures 50 cm.

When RPC-676 is worn around the neck of any individual, they will consciously (Subconsciously, if done in self-defence.) manifest an incorporeal illusion of an entity,1 bearing heavy similarities to the Thrones mentioned in the bible.2

When individuals that the wearer perceives as enemies witness the illusion, they will immediately be inflicted with immense psychological scarring and blindness. Symptoms of viewing RPC-676-1 have included:

  • Nausea.
  • Stomach aches.
  • Diarrhoea.
  • Induced Vomiting.
  • Paralysis.
  • Hallucinations.
  • Fatigue.
  • Paranoia.

While not technically sapient or sentient, personnel have reported hearing RPC-676-1 to vocalise Gloria in Excelsis Deo3 repeatedly until it vanishes. The vocalisations produced by RPC-676-1 have not been successfully caught on tape.

RPC-676 has a time limit regarding its usage, only becoming available after approximately 100 years had passed when used, save for the one time when it was used twice as a demonstration.

Addendum 676.01: Discovery Log

On the 7th of May, 1616, RPC-676, along with 13 other anomalous objects, were presented to Pope Paul V “Camillo Borghese” by Agilulf Valentin, the first leader and creator of the Steel Ring.

Valentin’s intention behind giving these objects to Paul V, as well as providing a demonstration of their capabilities, was presumably to obtain an agreement with Paul V that the Auctoritas Impertus would look into reviewing and approving of his establishment of the Steel Ring, which promised to provide the Auctoritas with anomalous weapons created by non-heretic means, as well as mass-produce non-anomalous weapons. Although Paul V was hesitant to bring the attention of this group to the Auctoritas, he nevertheless agreed presumably due to Valentin’s family's closeness to the German Catholic Church, as well as their devoutness to the Catholic faith.

Addendum 676.02: Recovered Documents

Forward: The following excerpts have been recovered from the Authority vault and contain information on RPC-676.

Addendum 676.04: Discovery Log

On the 14th of December, 1921, RPC-676 was successfully used by Agent. Alex Barker confessed to being an Atheist during their screening before they joined the Authority. RPC-676 was being transported to a new cell when a Church of Malthus raid on Site-007 caused Agent. Barker's attempt to use it in a desperate attempt to repel the invaders.

RPC-676 successfully manifested RPC-676-1, causing all members of the raid to witness its manifestation to suffer from the adverse effects RPC-676-1 inflicts onto viewers. None of the personnel who witnessed the manifestation of RPC-676-1 were found to have been afflicted by any harmful effects.

Agent. Barker admitted to using RPC-676 in self-defence after he suffered a near-fatal injury by one of the invaders. It's currently believed that after the collection of letters in Addendum 676.05, RPC-676 is not, in fact, useable only to those who are of Catholic faith.
