Containment Protocols: RPC-684 is to be held in a standard anomalous item locker within Site-079, pointed away from the locker’s entrance and clamped in place to prevent movement during earthquakes. It is to be kept in a powered off, fully charged, state except during testing. RPC-684's battery charge must be checked on a daily basis, as doing so lacks adverse effects. This can be done by any Authority staff member of level 2 or higher.1 RPC-684 is not to have its lens pointed in the direction of a sapient being except during testing.
Following testing, RPC-684-A and RPC-684-B instances are to be heavily monitored. Any commands issued to these individuals prior to recovery must be pertaining to experimentation. Any abuse of their suggestibility will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
During testing of RPC-684, MST X-Ray-6 "Annulifiers" are to monitor the social media of the individual being tested, as well as seek out newly created accounts using the identity of the test subject. Should any instances of RPC-684-C be discovered, it must be recorded before being expunged. If the instance of RPC-684-C has obtained upwards of 1,000 views before its discovery, Protocol 684-3 "Vaporware" should be enacted.

Description: RPC-684 is a full-frame mirrorless photography camera. Any subject that has RPC-684's lens directed at them will enter a complicit state. Subjects that enter this state are designated as RPC-684-A. While in this state RPC-684-A instances are highly suggestable, especially regarding changing their outfit. While RPC-684-A instances retain their personality, they will not refuse to put on any outfits provided to them, even if their make or design would go against their usual preferences. RPC-684-A instances will only refuse provided outfits that would cause physical harm or extreme discomfort.
Once the instance of RPC-684-A has put on its provided outfit, it will often claim to be "ready to begin the shoot" and will wait for instructions. The individual will then take on any pose requested of them, with no objection to its promiscuity or even possibility. Should the pose requested be physically impossible for the individual to perform the RPC-684-A will refuse to take on the pose, instead taking on a similar but possible one.
If the shutter button on RPC-684 is pressed, it functions as a standard non-anomalous camera. However, if a photograph is taken of an RPC-684-A instance, the subject will enter an acute state of delirium, exhibiting altered brain function similar to heavy sedation. This state renders RPC-684-A highly suggestible. Any verbal command issued while keeping the instance within the camera's viewfinder frame will be executed precisely. Should an impossible or self-damaging task or pose be commanded the RPC-684-A instance will resort to self-harm to fulfill it, including but not limited to: dislocation of joints, tearing of skin, and minor fractures to relevant bone structures.
Should there be 10 photos taken of a given RPC-684-A instance, the 11th picture taken of a given RPC-684-A instance, whether it was previously active or not, will have its camera flash on. The flash of this particular photo will exceed that of 200,000 Lumens, temporarily blinding all subjects. While heavily disorienting, this does not result in any lasting ocular damage with no exception to proximity. During this time, the RPC-684-A instance's form, including its outfit, will be temporarily altered in varying ways. RPC-684-A instances that undergo these changes are referred to as RPC-684-B.
RPC-684-B instances are visually altered to be similar, though not identical, to existing Kabushiki Kawaii products. These changes are often noted as being more provocative and attractive than the actual product.2 All changes to RPC-684-B's physical appearance are superficial, with no bearing on its internal anatomy. The form that RPC-684-B takes seems to be entirely random.
After approximately 20 minutes following the shutter button's last pressing, any social media pages belonging to RPC-684-A/B will have the photos taken by RPC-684 uploaded. If the account in question is set to private, it will automatically set to public. Posts will also be promoted via the website's promotion features if applicable. Lastly, all photos posted of an RPC-684-B instance will have a watermark depicting the Kabushiki Kawaii logo. This event, designated RPC-684-C, is not limited by bandwidth or connectivity, posting the images in spite of even high level communications jamming. These social media posts, while overall harmless, can lead to a disruption of the veil.
After a RPC-684-C event, the RPC-684-A instance will continue to be suggestible, reverting to stage one. Approximately twelve hours later, with a variance of about five hours, the RPC-684-A instance will return to normal behavior, with little memory of events during stage one, and no memories of events during stage two. An RPC-684-B instance will have a much longer recovery time, reverting back to an RPC-684-A instance first over five hours with a variance of an hour and a half, before the regular recovery time is initiated.
Discovery: Between the dates of 6/28/2026 and 7/1/2026, Authority web crawlers detected a heightened number of online searches involving Kabushiki Kawaii. This included phrases such as "kawaii catgirl cosplay", "what logo did @█████████████ use in recent post", and "kabushiki catgirl maid outfit where to buy". Upon further investigation, it was discovered that a popular "erotic cosplay" content creator "@█████████████", referred to as POI-1939-684 hereafter, had posted a series of photos to their various social medias that had been branded with a Kabushiki Kawaii logo. By the time the Authority became aware of these posts, the number of views numbered in the tens of thousands.
After an interview with POI-1939-684, and a brief correspondence with their manager, the Authority had narrowed down the location of the original photoshoot to three potential sites across the various districts of Tokyo, Japan. RPC-684 was discovered and confiscated in the second location of interest. At the time of the raid, an instance of RPC-684-B was discovered dressed as an instance of RPC-614 and was terminated on-sight.
