Description:
RPC-774 Opening (s1e4)
An anomalous television program produced and broadcast by Amazing! Co. media. The program, titled "The Wonders of Science with Dr. Amazing", manifests unpredictably across a variety of educational and children's television networks such as SciShow Kids, PBS, and the CBBC. RPC-774 has also manifested through the affected broadcasters' websites, with randomly selected videos being temporarily replaced by episodes of the program.
The program follows the titular Dr. Amazing, an eccentric scientist who teaches children about various scientific concepts through demonstrations and experiments, combining educational segments with a colorful set of puppet characters. The only person directly credited in the production is the actor behind Dr. Amazing: "Dr. Verlyn Newman", a figure who doesn't exist in any government records or databases.
During certain episodes, the television or display may begin leaking a small quantity of iridescent fluid in front of the screen. Analysis of recovered samples has confirmed the presence of Nu-particles, alongside several compounds commonly associated with conventional battery electrolytes. This liquid, designated RPC-774-1, is generally harmless. This phenomenon carries over to recorded instances of RPC-774.

DR. AMAZING
Hello, scientists! Today, we're going to talk about something very strange.
MOLLY
How strange is today's topic, today, Dr. Amanzerging?
DR. AMAZING
Hah! Let me give you an example… You know how sometimes you walk into a room and think, "Hmm… something feels different here?"
BINKY
Gee, Doctor Animazings… Likes when somesone been eatings my cookies?
DR. AMAZING
[Laughs] Maybe! Except we're talking about something much stranger than missing cookies. Come, think of something strange… maybe something a little… invisible.
MOLLY
Hummm… Ghosts? Methinkses!
DR. AMAZING
That's right, Molly! A hundred points to you! Or perhaps, fifty. What I want to talk to you about today is something we can't normally see at all!
[DR. AMAZING pulls a curtain away from a large cardboard drawing of an ordinary living room.]
"ANOPTICIN — THE BRAIN'S NATURAL FILTER"
BINKY
A-nop-ti-cin…. What's thats?
DR. AMAZING
Let me tell you! Your brain is an incredible machine! Every second, your eyes, ears, nose, skin, and all your other senses are sending information to it.
[DR. AMAZING grabs a fistful of envelopes from a bucket marked "EYES" and begins rapidly stuffing them through a slot in a large cardboard brain.]
DR. AMAZING
Colors! [Envelope.] Sounds! [Envelope.] Smells! [Envelope.] The feeling of your socks! [Envelope.]
BINKY
Cookies?
DR. AMAZING
[Pulls out an envelope of a cookie.] Cookies!
[BINKY throws an entire box of cookies into the brain.]
DR. AMAZING
But that's an awful lot of information, isn't it? So your brain has to decide what matters—
[A puppet dressed as a librarian suddenly bursts through the cardboard brain.]
LIBRARIAN PUPPET
[Looks at the envelopes] TOO MUCH! TOO MUCH!
[She begins frantically throwing the envelopes back at everyone.]
LIBRARIAN PUPPET
NOISE! CLUTTER! UNIMPORTANT INFORMATION! OUT YOU GO!
BARNABY
So… my… brain… is… throwing… things… away…?
[An envelope lands in BARNABY's mouth.]
DR. AMAZING
Well, not exactly!
[DR. AMAZING pulls the envelope out.]
DR. AMAZING
It's filtering them. And our bodies have a very special chemical that helps us do it.
[He reaches into the cardboard brain and pulls out an absurdly oversized bottle labeled ANOPTICIN. A little fanfare plays.]
DR. AMAZING
Anopticin!
MOLLY
An-opt-ih-what?
DR. AMAZING
Anopticin!
MOLLY
Gesundheit!
[Confetti explodes from behind MOLLY.]
DR. AMAZING
[Laughs] Thank you! Anopticin helps our brains ignore certain strange little inconsistencies in what we see and hear.
[He walks over to the cardboard living room.]
DR. AMAZING
Take this room. Looks ordinary, doesn't it?
BINKY
There's a lamps!
MOLLY
CHAIR!
BARNABY
A… window…
DR. AMAZING
Exactly! Lamp, chair, window—
[As he points at each object, an additional object silently appears somewhere else in the room: an extra door, a second lamp hanging upside down, and finally a tall black silhouette.]
DR. AMAZING
—and nothing particularly unusual.
BINKY
Doctor Animazings…
DR. AMAZING
Yes?
BINKY
There's a thing thing behind you.
[DR. AMAZING turns. The silhouette is gone.]
DR. AMAZING
Where?
BINKY
Its was rights theres!
DR. AMAZING
Well then…
[He suddenly wheels an enormous machine into frame, knocking the cardboard lamp over.]
DR. AMAZING
…maybe it's time we changed the filter!
"VIDERICS! — SEEING WHAT WE DON'T SEE"
DR. AMAZING
[Shows off a dead light bulb.] Viderics are a medicine developed by scientists to play around with our brain's natural filter. When those filters are lowered, things we normally can't see suddenly become visible! [The lightbulb lights up, illuminating toys around the dark room.]
MOLLY
So, see Viderics lets you see every everything see?
DR. AMAZING
Not quite! That's an important distinction. They don't simply give you better eyes. They can change what information your brain is able to perceive.
BARNABY
Then… what… happens… when… you… see… something… that… nobody… else… can… see…?
DR. AMAZING
Tell me, what's an example of something our brain normally filters out?
BARNABY
Bread…?
DR. AMAZING
Not quite.
BINKY
Telephones!?
DR. AMAZING
Nope.
MOLLY
NOSES!
DR. AMAZING
Correct! A hundred million points to you! Our brain filters out the nose between our eyes so tha—
MOLLY
EYES!
DR. AMAZING
N-not exactly wrong, but—
MOLLY
LIPS!
DR. AMAZING
Molly, let me—
MOLLY
TEETH. EYEBROWS. EARS. HAIR. FACE. HEAD.
[…]
MOLLY
WHERE IS YOUR FACE?
DR. AMAZING
It's right here.
[…]
By this point, RPC-774-1 would leak from the screen, particularly around Dr. Amazing's face.
MOLLY
WHERE IS YOUR FACE?
DR. AMAZING
Molly, it's right he—
MOLLY
WHERE IS YOUR FACE?
DR. AMAZING
I said, it's right here.
[…]
DR. AMAZING
[Fake chuckle] Are we- are we really doing this? W-we can't keep—
MOLLY
WHERE IS YOUR FACE?
DR. AMAZING
…Right here.
[He gestures vaguely toward his face.]
MOLLY
WHERE IS YOUR FACE?
DR. AMAZING
[Quietly] You can see it.
MOLLY
WHERE IS YOUR FACE?
DR. AMAZING
…Yes. You can.
[He looks at MOLLY for a moment, then sighs.]
DR. AMAZING
Now, where were we?
[…]
[The music starts up again.]

Addendum: 774.1
Investigations into the identity of "Dr. Verlyn Newman" have revealed that the individual is not native to baseline Earth, but instead originated from ALTR-Nu923, a subsidiary reality of Nucorp Industries.
When questioned, Nucorp Industries representatives claimed to have no records concerning his disappearance or the circumstances surrounding his arrival on baseline Earth. No employee currently associated with Nucorp has been able to provide an explanation for the nature of the anomaly, nor has the company acknowledged any connection between Dr. Newman, Amazing! Co, and RPC-774.
A similar program to RPC-774 called "The Wonders of Science with Dr. Nu" exists in ALTR-Nu023, with the titular Dr. Nu being played by British Scientist Brian Edward Cox instead. However, this show has little in common with RPC-774. The only document recovered by the Authority concerning Dr. Newman is a Nucorp Industries publication dated June 5, 1993 (Nu923 time).
We Proudly Celebrate the Achievement of the New Dr. Nu!
06/05/1993
Nucorp celebrating Dr. Newman's Achievement
A Nu Era is Awaiting
We celebrate today the achievement of Dr. Verlyn Newman, Britain's greatest, but least recognized, mind of the 20th century. After decades of research into Nu-particle mechanics, ████ energy, and inter-reality transit, Dr. Newman has achieved a remarkable breakthrough in Phasegate technology.
Building upon the pioneering research of the late Dr. Edward Nu, he has developed a new generation of Phasegate that provides a safer and more reliable means of inter-reality travel by calibrating ██████ Nu-particles within the visible ████ ██████.
Nucorp Industries has proudly named this new Phasegate model the Nu Gate, in recognition of the man whose research first made inter-reality transportation possible. This new technology is expected to reduce the risks associated with conventional Phasegate travel greatly. This advancement brings Nucorp one step closer to making inter-reality transportation safer, more efficient, and accessible than ever before.
Dr. Newman has quickly become one of Nucorp Industries' most important scientists. His colleagues, impressed by his remarkable understanding of Nu-particle theory and his dedication to continuing Dr. Nu's work, have affectionately begun calling him "the next Dr. Nu" himself!
With this technology, we can explore the far reaches beyond. Where there is light, man can travel. Whether it be the distant stars of the observable universe, or your very own █████ screens.
—Dr. Newman
What does Dr. Newman plan on doing after this achievement?
When asked what he intends to do following his latest breakthrough, Dr. Newman gave a rather unexpected answer. Rather than pursuing another grand scientific endeavor, he says he wishes to settle down and teach children as he once taught his colleagues and disciples: "with patience, care, and a little entertainment." To Dr. Newman, every child is a scientist waiting to ask their first question.

INTRO
DR. AMAZING
Hello, scientists! Today we're going to take a little trip somewhere very, very far away.
[DR. AMAZING pulls a large lever. A cardboard portal opens behind him, revealing several brightly colored versions of the studio.]
DR. AMAZING
WELCOME TO THE WORLDS OF INFINITE POSSIBILITIES!
[The puppets gather around in awe.]
DR. AMAZING
[Laughs] That's right! We're talking about Parallel Worlds!
BARNABY
Parallel… worlds…?
DR. AMAZING
That's right. Let's say there were two straight lines.
[DR. AMAZING draws two intersecting lines.]
[He gestures to the bottom of the drawing.]
DR. AMAZING
As you can see here, these lines are separated and go on forever and ever without facing each other. But here—
[Gesturing to the top of the drawing where the two lines intersect.]
DR. AMAZING
The lines intersect! They meet each other. What does this have to do with parallel worlds? I'll show you!
[Throws away the drawing of the line and reveals a set of parallel lines.]
DR. AMAZING
These two parallel lines will never intersect, no matter how far up or down you go.
[Throws away the drawing of the parallel lines.]
DR. AMAZING
That's the idea behind parallel worlds! Two universes that face eachother in parallel, but they never intersect.
MOLLY
That sure is sure interstering! But what sure happens in the other earth!?
DR. AMAZING
That's an interesting question, Molly! Worlds that exist alongside our own, but which may be different in all sorts of fascinating ways. Imagine a world where the sky is green!
[The green sky on one of the cardboard worlds lights up.]
MOLLY
Green!
DR. AMAZING
Or a world where gravity is much weaker!
[DR. AMAZING jumps. A wire pulls him slowly toward the ceiling.]
DR. AMAZING
Whoo-hoo!
BINKY
Or a worlds where everiesones is very, very tall.
[The puppets pull themselves upward on strings.]
BARNABY
Very… very… tall.
DR. AMAZING
Exactly! A parallel world could have different conditions, different histories, and perhaps even—
MOLLY
A world where everyone is a puppet!
[The puppets laugh.]
DR. AMAZING
[Laughs] Well, yes, I suppose that's possible.
BINKY
And a worlds where everiesones is a scientist!
DR. AMAZING
[Smiles] Now… That's a world I'd like to visit.
MOLLY
A world where everyone understands what Dr. Amanzerging is saying!
[The puppets laugh.]
DR. AMAZING
[Laughs awkwardly] Very funny, Molly.
[He turns back toward the cardboard worlds.]
DR. AMAZING
Now, the important thing to understand is that a parallel world isn't necessarily another planet. We're talking about an entirely separate reality, potentially governed by different conditions—
BINKY
You're so funnies, Dr. Animazings!
DR. AMAZING
Thank you! As I was saying—
BINKY
We don'ts understands anythings you're sayings!
[The puppets laugh.]
DR. AMAZING
…Well, that's why we're learning.
[DR. AMAZING goes back to reviewing the cardboards.]
DR. AMAZING
A parallel world could differ from ours in tiny ways, or it could be almost completely unrecognizable. For example, there may be a world where a historical event happened differently.
[He places two toy scientists on a map.]
DR. AMAZING
One decision could lead history down an entirely different path.
MOLLY
Like if Dr. Amanzerging wasn't here!
[DR. AMAZING pauses.]
BINKY
Then who would teaches us?
DR. AMAZING
Someone else, presumably.
BINKY
Would they be smarters?
DR. AMAZING
Binky.
MOLLY
Would they be would be funnier?
BINKY
I hopes so!
[The puppets laugh.]
DR. AMAZING
[Forced laugh] Very good.
[He places the toy soldiers back down.]
DR. AMAZING
Now, another fascinating possibility is that a parallel world may contain another version of you.
BARNABY
Another Dr. Amanjering…?
DR. AMAZING
…Perhaps.
BARNABY
Would… he… be… the… same…?
DR. AMAZING
Not necessarily. He might have made different choices. He might have different memories. He might have lived an entirely different life.
MOLLY
Maybe he lived somehowhere maybe else!
[…]
MOLLY
You used to live somehowhere else, didn't you, Dr. Amanzerging?
[Silence.]
DR. AMAZING
…That's not part of today's lesson.
MOLLY
What was home was like?
DR. AMAZING
I said that's not part of the lesson.
BINKY
Was it pretties?
[…]
BARNABY
Were… there… puppets…?
DR. AMAZING
No.
[The puppets become quiet.]
MOLLY
What was there?
DR. AMAZING
People… Children… Scientists…
MOLLY
Like us?
[DR. AMAZING looks at her.]
DR. AMAZING
No. Not like you.
BINKY
Heehee! We're nots peoples!
MOLLY
We're puppets!
BARNABY
We're… puppets!
[They begin laughing and chanting.]
BINKY / MOLLY / BARNABY
Puppets! Puppets! Puppets!
DR. AMAZING
That's enough.
[They stop.]
DR. AMAZING
Ahem.
[DR. AMAZING turns back toward the camera.]
DR. AMAZING
So! Parallel worlds. Fascinating places full of possibilities. And perhaps somewhere out there, there is another version of you—
MOLLY
Who's better!
[The puppets laugh.]
[DR. AMAZING stares at MOLLY for a moment.]
MOLLY
What?
DR. AMAZING
Nothing.
[He smiles.]
DR. AMAZING
Let's continue.
[The cardboard portal behind him flickers. For a moment, the studio on the other side appears to contain a group of real children sitting in an audience.]
[DR. AMAZING notices and turns around.]
[The portal is showing only the empty cardboard set again.]
RPC-774-1 begins leaking.
[…]
BINKY
Dr. Animazings?
DR. AMAZING
Yes?
BINKY
Are you okays?
DR. AMAZING
I'm fine. I just… remembered something…
[…]
DR. AMAZING
[Quietly] …When I used to teach children.
[…]
[He turns toward the camera.]
[Clap.]
DR. AMAZING
Now, let's talk about what happens when two parallel worlds come into contact. [Forced smile] Now, here's something else to think about. If parallel worlds exist, then there may be worlds where things happened very differently from the way they did here.
BINKY
Maybes there's a worlds where Dr. Animazings isn't a scientist!
DR. AMAZING
Well, certainly. There could be worlds where any number of things are different.
MOLLY
Maybe there's a world that didn't want you.
[…]
DR. AMAZING
…What?
BARNABY
But… who… wouldn't… want… Dr. Amanjering…?
BINKY
He's so cool!
MOLLY
He made the Amazing Gates, you know!
DR. AMAZING
[Quietly] Nu Gates.
BINKY
Amazing Gates!
DR. AMAZING
They're called Nu Gates.
MOLLY
Amazing Gates! Who cares?
DR. AMAZING
Please… focus. This… This isn't the topic for today's lesson.
MOLLY
Why aren't you home, home anymore?
[DR. AMAZING looks toward the camera.]
DR. AMAZING
That's not relevant to parallel worlds.
MOLLY
Did no one want you?
DR. AMAZING
I said that's not relevant.
BINKY
Thanksfullies, you're parts of the AMAZING family now, right, Doctor?
[The puppets smile.]
[…]
DR. AMAZING
Yes.
MOLLY
Imagine if there was a scientist named semothing named silly like Dr. Nu.
[The puppets giggle.]
DR. AMAZING
It's not silly.
[…]
BARNABY
What…?
DR. AMAZING
[Forced smile] I wouldn't call it silly.
MOLLY
But that's a stupid name for stupid people.
DR. AMAZING
Don't say that.
MOLLY
Nu is an awful name.
BINKY
Awfuls!
BARNABY
Awful…
MOLLY
No wonder no one wanted him.
[Dr. Amazing's smile disappears.]
DR. AMAZING
You don't know what you're talking about.
MOLLY
Don't we?
DR. AMAZING
No.
MOLLY
Then why aren't you home?
[…]
[He turns back toward the cardboard model of the parallel worlds.]
DR. AMAZING
As I was saying…
[He picks up a model of a planet. His hand is visibly trembling.]
DR. AMAZING
…there may be an infinite number of worlds, each with their own histories, their own people, and their own possibilities.
BINKY
Maybes one of thems has a Dr. Nu!
[The puppets laugh.]
DR. AMAZING
[Under his breath] There is.
MOLLY
What?
DR. AMAZING
Nothing.
[He forces a smile toward the camera.]
DR. AMAZING
Let's move on.

DR. AMAZING
Hello, scientists! Today, we're going to talk about one of the most remarkable achievements in modern transportation: The N—
[…]
DR. AMAZING
The… Nu Gates…
[He looks at the cardboard Phasegate.]
DR. AMAZING
Why… Why are we talking about this?
Small bits of RPC-774-1 begins leaking, before briefly stopping.
BINKY
Becauses we're cusrious!
MOLLY
Yeah! We're cururious!
DR. AMAZING
No, I mean… why are we talking about this?
BARNABY
It's… science…!
DR. AMAZING
Yes, I know it's science. But— This wasn't part of the deal! This was- this was—
[He looks toward the camera.]
DR. AMAZING
There— [Chuckles] there are thousands of things we could be… teaching…
MOLLY
But we're cururious about Nu Gates!
DR. AMAZING
…Why?
MOLLY
Be because they're AMAZING!
[The puppets laugh.]
[He slowly turns back toward the cardboard Phasegate.]
[…]
DR. AMAZING
Alright… Alright! Yes, today we're going to be talking about:
"THE NU GATES — AMAZING PHASGATES"
[He picks up a pointer.]
DR. AMAZING
A Nu Gate is a device capable of connecting two distant points through different earths, through the use of a special little substance called: Nu Particles!
MOLLY
What a silly name!
DR. AMAZING
[Chuckles] Well, I've heard that many times before. But scientists aren't known for making good names!
BINKY
Dr. Nu?
[…]
DR. AMAZING
…What?
BINKY
Dr. Nu mades them, did he?
DR. AMAZING
…Yes. [Smiles] Yes he did!
MOLLY
Who's Dr. Nu?
DR. AMAZING
He's—
[He stops himself.]
DR. AMAZING
He was a… scientist.
BARNABY
Was… he… a… good… scientist…?
DR. AMAZING
I think so.
BARNABY
Better… than… you…?
DR. AMAZING
Oh, this guy, [chuckles] well, that's depend on how you look at it!
MOLLY
Mabye he was really, really smarts!
DR. AMAZING
He was.
MOLLY
Smarter than Dr. Amanzerging?
[DR. AMAZING laughs, but then becomes silent.]
DR. AMAZING
In a way, he was.
BINKY
But Binky can't imagina any anyones smarters that Dr. Animazings! That's whies Dr. Nu can't compares!
[…]
BINKY
Maybes he just suckeds at his jobs.
[The puppets laugh.]
BINKY
After all, he's no longers heres!
[More laughter.]
DR. AMAZING
Very funny.
[He turns back toward the model.]
DR. AMAZING
The first Nu Gate was developed through research into Nu-particles, which are capable of—
MOLLY
They never wanted you, but we do!
DR. AMAZING
What?
MOLLY
You're part of the AMAZING family!
BARNABY
We're… your… family…!
BINKY
Family!
[The puppets clap.]
DR. AMAZING
I don't think you understand.
BINKY
We understands!
DR. AMAZING
No, you don't.
MOLLY
We love Dr. Amanzerging!
DR. AMAZING
I… created the Nu Gates….
[The room goes quiet.]
DR. AMAZING
I did.
[He points toward the model.]
DR. AMAZING
Me. I- I…
[He grabs the phasgate cutout and points at it.]
DR. AMAZING
I developed them. I spent years working on them. Without my research, Nucorp would have been—
[…]
DR. AMAZING
…Never mind.
BINKY
You're replaceables!
DR. AMAZING
I'm not.
BINKY
Everyone's replaceables!
DR. AMAZING
I'm not.
MOLLY
But you're here! Dr…
BINKY
Dr. Animazings!
BARNABY
Dr. Amanjering…!
MOLLY
You're the one who one choes to be an AMAZING scintetist! The one best one, right, Dr. Amanzerging? Withouted you! We'd just be stupid! Stupid stupid puppets!
[The puppets giggle.]
DR. AMAZING
What… is this…?
[He looks between them.]
DR. AMAZING
You all—you all know how to speak proper English. Why do you have to force yourself to speak like this?
MOLLY
Whaterveer can you mean can, Doctor?
BINKY
Yeah, Doctor! Whats are you talking abuots?
[They laugh.]
DR. AMAZING
…You think this is funny?
[…]
DR. AMAZING
This isn't how children are supposed to act…
[He looks at the puppets.]
DR. AMAZING
Children are smart. They watch and learn and apply. They ask questions. They challenge you.
[He gestures toward them.]
DR. AMAZING
But none of you ever learn anything.
MOLLY
Aw gee, Doctor Amanzerging… That's a harshen thing to say.
[The puppets laugh.]
DR. AMAZING
It's Nu—…Amazing. [He points at MOLLY.] "Aw gee, Doctor Amazing, that's a harsh thing to say." That's how you speak properly.
[He points at MOLLY.]
DR. AMAZING

[He notices the camera.]
DR. AMAZING
Does anyone learn anything from this show…? Or is it just one of a million jokes.
[Panting, he slowly laughs.]
DR. AMAZING
Heh… Yes, this is a joke to you, isn't it…? No one ever takes the plight or crimes of anything that happens in this company seriously.
[…]
DR. AMAZING
I'll show you something to take seriously!

I'll destroy every single one of your cameras if that's what it takes.
[CAMERA FEED LOST.]
[CUT TO: EIGHTH CAMERA.]
[Slowly approaching the eighth camera.]
[He looks around the studio. The puppets remain scattered around the set, some lying on the floor, others still seated at the table.]
DR. AMAZING
How many cameras are there?
[…]
DR. AMAZING
How many times are you going to make me do this?
[He takes another step.]
DR. AMAZING
Is this what you want?
[…]
RPC-774-1 stops leaking.
[APPLAUSE.]
PLEASE WELCOME A SPECIAL CASE IN TODAY'S EPISODE!

<BEGIN TRANSCRIPT [0:00]>
INTRO
[The episode begins with DR. AMAZING sitting silently in the center of the studio, visibly shaking.]
[The torn puppets sit around him.]
[None of them acknowledge this.]
[Confetti continuously falls from the ceiling.]
[A slow, cheerful orchestral melody plays.]
BINKY
We love you, you love us. We're a happy family, aren't we, Dr. Newman?
DR. AMAZING
That's… right…
[Confetti lands on his shoulders.]
"WE PROUDLY CELEBRATE THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE NEW DR. NU!"
BINKY
We celebrate today the achievement of Dr. Verlyn Newman, Britain's greatest, but least recognized, mind of the 20th century!
LIL' MS. AMAZING
[Clapping] Congratulations! Congratulations! Raise the confetti!
[Another burst of confetti.]
MOLLY
After decades of research into Nu-particle mechanics, planar energy, and inter-reality transit, Dr. Newman has achieved a remarkable breakthrough in Phasegate technology!
BARNABY
Building upon the pioneering research of the late Dr. Edward Nu, he has developed a new generation of Phasegate that provides a safer and more reliable means of inter-reality travel.
MOLLY
Nucorp Industries has proudly named this new Phasegate model the Nu Gate, in recognition of the man whose research first made inter-reality transportation possible.
[APPLAUSE.]
[DR. AMAZING looks at the puppets silently.]
BINKY
His colleagues began calling him the next Dr. Nu himself!
LIL' MS. AMAZING
Incredible! Incredible! More confetti!
[Even more confetti falls.]
[APPLAUSE.]
DR. AMAZING
Stop…
[The applause stops.]
[…]
DR. AMAZING
Please stop.
MOLLY
But we're celebrating!
DR. AMAZING
You don't know anything about me.
BARNABY
We know everything!
[…]
[The music resumes.]
LIL' MS. AMAZING
And now, a very special surprise!
[She wheels a television onto the set.]
DR. AMAZING
…What's that?
LIL' MS. AMAZING
A little something we'd like to show you.
[She turns on the television.]
[TELEVISION BROADCAST]
[The screen displays a brightly lit studio.]
[Several children sit on the floor.]
[A man stands in front of them, played by Brian Edward Cox.]
DR. NU
Hello, scientists!
CHILDREN
Hello, Dr. Nu!
[He is standing beside a large, Nu Gate model.]
DR. NU
Today, we're going to learn about parallel worlds!
[The children cheer.]
DR. NU
Now, I want you to think about something.
[He kneels down beside one of the children.]
DR. NU
What if there were another Earth somewhere out there?
CHILD
Like another world?
DR. NU
Exactly!
[The children gasp.]
DR. NU
And what if we could visit it?
[The Nu Gate model begins powering up.]
CHILDREN
Whoa!
[The gate opens.]
[The children cheer.]
[DR. NU smiles.]
DR. AMAZING
No…
[LIL' MISS AMAZING watches him.]
DR. AMAZING
No, that's…
[He approaches the television.]
DR. AMAZING
That's my lesson. And those children… Who- who is that?

[He listens to the children in the television cheer.]
[He touches the television.]
DR. AMAZING
That's… my gate.
[The music in the Amazing! o studio continues playing.]
DR. AMAZING
I…
[He looks toward LIL' MISS AMAZING.]
DR. AMAZING
That was supposed to be me…
LIL' MS. AMAZING
What was?
DR. AMAZING
This.

DR. AMAZING
All of this.
[The children in the television laugh as DR. NU demonstrates the strange environment.]
DR. AMAZING
I wanted…
[…]
DR. AMAZING
I wanted to teach them.
[LIL' MISS AMAZING smiles.]
LIL' MS. AMAZING
And now they have someone who does!
[DR. AMAZING looks at her.]
[The television continues.]
DR. NU
Science isn't just about knowing the answers.
[The children listen.]
DR. NU
It's about asking questions.
[DR. NU slowly sits down.]
DR. NU
It's about being curious. Have you ever been curious about something?
CHILD
I always wanted to know what I'm like in other worlds.
DR. NU
[Laughs] That would be incredible to see, wouldn't it? But… It's important to remember. There's no place like home. No matter how good your life may seem in another world, the world you live in can only be the best one.
CHILD
Why is that, Dr, Nu?
DR. NU
Because… It's the world you're living in right now.
[The children cheer.]
[DR. AMAZING watches silently.]
[His expression becomes increasingly vacant.]
BINKY
Isn't he wonderful?
MOLLY
He's a great teacher!
BARNABY
The children love him.
[DR. AMAZING remains silent, then lowers his head.]
[Confetti continues falling around him.]
BINKY
You must be very proud, Dr. Newman!
[…]
MOLLY
You made the Nu Gates!
BARNABY
And now everybody can use them!
[DR. AMAZING looks up.]
[He looks at the television.]
[DR. NU is laughing with the children.]
[The children are laughing with him.]
[DR. AMAZING closes his eyes.]
DR. AMAZING
…He'll do better.
[…]
DR. AMAZING
He'll do better than I ever could.
[…]
DR. AMAZING
He has everything I wanted.
[LIL' MISS AMAZING tilts her head.]
LIL' MS. AMAZING
Does that make you happy?
[…]
[DR. AMAZING looks at the television, then forces a smile.]
DR. AMAZING
Yes…. I think it does.
BINKY
We're a happy family.
MOLLY
Aren't we?
BARNABY
We're your family.
[Confetti continues falling.]
[The music resumes.]
LIL' MS. AMAZING
Congratulations, Dr. Nu.
LIL' MS. AMAZING
For being part of this amazing new family.
[The camera slowly pulls away.]
[The confetti continues.]
[The puppets continue cheering.]
