Containment Protocols: The disassembled parts of RPC-923 are to be kept inside 3 separate storage containers within Site-079. These containers are to be sealed behind a reinforced steel door and require level 3 security clearance to be opened.

Medicinal treatment for the residual effects of RPC-923-1 exposure is considered unreliable, and only taken to treat lingering psychological damage post-exposure. Surgery is authorized only to prevent death during the reversion of RPC-923-1 affected individuals, either due to consumed inedible matter or unsustainable changes as the person’s physiognomy reverts back to normalcy.

Any and all testing performed with RPC-923 is to be performed inside a pre-approved hermetically sealed chamber featuring an airlock to allow for the filtration of RPC-923-1 from any humanoid testing subjects. Any nearby personnel that are not the subject of an experiment are to wear sealed chemical suits, including CSD during testing.

Description: RPC-923 is a portable humidifier able to alter the physical properties of matter. Mechanical analysis shows that the anomaly should not be able to operate, being made from pieces of scrap, with some parts appearing entirely arbitrary and without a clear purpose.1 The main components of RPC-923 include the following:

  • An operator panel which contains labeled on and off buttons.
  • A control panel, featuring the internal components of RPC-923-1.
  • Four aluminum, five-liter gas tanks; three labeled “water,” one labeled “hydrogen.”
  • Four quick disconnect ports connecting to an air filter regulator lubricator.
  • An exhaust vent from which RPC-923-1 exits.

When RPC-923 is activated, RPC-923-1 will be produced, and any affected item or person will manifest exaggerated properties based on its general perception to others. Appearance, size, shape, and psychology are typically altered. A rudimentary understanding of this process exists, with the unconscious thoughts and emotions of people within a one mile radius acting as a basis for these changes.

RPC-923-1 is an aerosol compound produced by RPC-923. Samples of RPC-923-1 are not chemically consistent with existing physics. When hydrogen and water are mixed within the auxiliary chamber, a stable form of hydronium is produced. When RPC-923-1 then comes into contact with non-anomalous particles, it integrates itself with the item or person’s atomic structure, imposing noospheric alterations to it. RPC-923-1 itself is unstable and its decay is nonlethal—typically only bonding to the surface of an object.

The effects of RPC-923-1 last between 14-20 days with minimal exposure and 80-125 days of total exposure before the item or person reverts to their original state.

Discovery: RPC-923 was found within an isolated cabin in West Virginia. An unnatural density of trees was reported to block multiple civilian footpaths along the Appalachian Mountains. Initial agents reported large hedge walls of oaks, encircling a kilometer in radius. MST Charlie-9 "Countryside Hypocrites" aerial dispatch was sent to survey the area.

Upon contact, the cabin containing RPC-923 was in disarray, enveloped in a large cloud of fog. Several minor anomalies were recovered from acquisition, including several appliances that functioned despite lacking a power source. RPC-923 was found within the attic.

MST agents returning from RPC-923’s recovery were affected by the presence of RPC-923-1. Psychologically developing an overtly stern and serious demeanor, along with an affinity for black suits, ties, and sunglasses. Affected agents refused to disclose any relevant information on acquisition to anyone not considered a “superior.” Majority of personnel were detained and quarantined for a 28 day period.

Testing and Incident logs

Addendum 1: Due to the use of human testing subjects, RPC-923 was moved to an older humanoid testing chamber. An incident occurred involving the leakage of RPC-923-1 from the chamber during initial testing. Three staff around the chamber ended up becoming exposed to RPC-923-1. Investigation found that a series of tiny holes had developed along the chamber walls which allowed for RPC-923-1 to breach containment. It is theorized that this occurred due to both staff and CSDs' opinion of the walls within Site-079 being of subpar quality which caused RPC-923-1 to manifest these holes.

Below is a recorded list of persons affected by RPC-923-1

Addendum 2: Following the breach of RPC-923-1, effort was made to replace the test chamber walls with new advanced reinforced material; although costly, the new walls should provide the best possible protection to personnel. Testing found these walls to not be negatively affected by RPC-923-1.

Once Matthew Edwards was cleared to continue research on RPC-923, an experiment was theorized with the goal to have a human conscious make contact with the infoplane.

Cross referencing RPC-923-1 with our understanding of memotics, I've come to the conclusion that RPC-923-1 must act as both a sort of memotic feeder and memotic singularity.

Objects affected by RPC-923-1 duplicate any memotic vectors related to the subject and then flood those vectors into the physical world; however, it works opposite to that of Lethium. Whereas Lethium’s bonds remove memotics from a subject, RPC-923-1’s bonding adds them. The extremity of RPC-923-1’s effects must be due to the intense flow of memotics into the physical plane. In a way it's similar to the intense ΔP we see in underwater pipe leaks. The decay of RPC-923-1 particles must result in either a connection between the infoplane and reality dissolving or some sort of repulsive effect towards the absorbed memotic vectors.

I have begun to wonder if, since RPC-923-1 allows for memotic vectors to leave the infoplane, the opposite would be possible: for memotic grounds to enter into the infoplane. Since we know the mind acts as our memotic ground and RPC-923-1 weakens the walls between planes, would flooding the brain with RPC-923-1 allow for it to enter into the infoplane? Of course such an experiment is extremely dangerous as it could easily result in death from solvation within the infoplane or even for someone to become tangled up in the chaos and turn out worse than before. As of now I am looking for suitable test subjects for such a procedure, and I already have a few ideas.
