Containment Protocols: As of 02/20/2007, RPC-462 is held in a 5m3 steel-reinforced concrete chamber at Site-036's Heavy Containment Wing under Level 3 clearance. During regular hours, 4 ASF personnel armed with high-caliber ammunition must routinely inspect the containment's structural integrity; any compromises found are to be reported to maintenance staff for repair. Personnel assigned to RPC-462 are to don AET-specialized uniforms to prevent clinging to the anomaly's semi-adhesive surface. Consumption of RPC-462's excess matter is strictly prohibited.
In the event of a breach, the Heavy Containment Wing is to be placed under lockdown until RPC-462 has been secured. ASF personnel are tasked with routing a mixture of water and soap to the sprinkler system and activating it to incapacitate RPC-462, allowing temporary containment.
RPC-462 is held in a 5m3 masonry brick chamber at Site-036's Heavy Containment Wing, guarded by no more than three ASF personnel. All combatants are to be equipped with high-caliber weaponry and must don AET-specialized uniforms when interacting with RPC-462. All experimentation involving RPC-462 requires Level 3 clearance. In the event of a breach, the Heavy Containment Wing is to be placed under lockdown until RPC-462 has been contained by ASF personnel.
Excess matter of RPC-462.
Description: RPC-462 is a 2.1-meter-tall humanoid entity composed entirely of consolidated rock candy. Its body consists of a vivid polychromatic arrangement of faceted crystals of various colors such as reds, yellows, oranges, greens, blues, and greys. RPC-462 has no visible facial features or any internal anatomy. Due to its structure, RPC-462 is very slow, with its maximum walking speed clocking at .002 m/s.
When moving, RPC-462's surface will emit a low-level acoustic crackling as a result of microfracturing followed by rapid recrystallization. Damages to RPC-462's form of any kind result in the entity becoming inactive until its natural recrystallization regenerates all sustained damage. Its durability is comparable to reinforced granite, allowing for substantial defense against melee weaponry and small projectiles of lower caliber.
Upon noticing a target, RPC-462 will gradually approach it, attacking once in striking range. Due to RPC-462's semi-adhesive surface, all physical contact results in the subject attaching to the entity, allowing for RPC-462 to strangle the subject. Chemically inert materials prove effective for handling RPC-462, allowing for safe physical interaction with the entity.
Exterior of RPC-462's discovery location.
Discovery: On 06/09/2006, an abandoned confectionery factory in █████, Colorado, was discovered by a group of urban explorers who were travelling through a nearby forest. Upon entering, they documented their excursion via video camera. Multiple recordings were shot, mostly of vintage factory machinery with occasional commentary. During their exploration, they stumbled upon various posters and documents mentioning the "Greatest Candy Man That'll Rock Your Socks Off, The Rock Candy Sweetheart!". The group reported having fled the premises after encountering RPC-462 to a local police department, leading to the Authority's attention.
Mobile Specialized Team Charlie-9 ("Countryside Hypocrites") located the factory after following the group's trail through the countryside. Charlie-9 personnel then investigated the complex to locate RPC-462.
For the first three hours of exploration, RPC-462 did not appear, but instead Charlie-9 discovered various merchandise and banners portraying the entity in a promotional light, being drawn in the "Rubberhose" animation style. RPC-462 was located where it was last sighted and contained without incident. RPC-462 was then transported to Site-036 for further study and permanent containment.
Addendum.462.01:
Overview: RPC-462 was successfully placed within a 3m3 testing chamber. Before the entity could activate, a CO2 laser was fired in the chamber, cutting off a piece of RPC-462. CSD-5541 was instructed to enter the chamber and acquire the piece, then exit. The subject performed this task swiftly and obeyed all orders as expected.
CSD-5541 was then instructed to consume the chunk.
12:45 PM: CSD-5541 consumes RPC-462 chunk. No effects reported.
12:50 PM: Loud gurgling can be heard inside CSD-5541's stomach from the observation chamber. Subject reports extreme pain throughout their digestive tract.
1:05 PM: CSD-5541 collapses onto the ground, holding their stomach. Continued reports of extreme pain, now mixed with nausea and migraines.
1:10 PM: The subject reports a sudden outburst of euphoria and begins laughing.
1:15 PM: CSD-5541's body begins crackling comparably to RPC-462 in tone. The subject's laughter substantially grows in volume.
1:20 PM: After one last laugh, CSD-5541's body detonates into thousands of rock candies of varying colors, ultimately terminating them.
The remains of CSD-5541 were gathered by personnel and stored in an Alpha-class locker in Site-036's Light Containment Wing.
Note: It appears that despite being composed of nonanomalous materials, the effects post-consumption couldn't be more bizarre. From here on out, consumption of chunks derived from RPC-462 is strictly prohibited. This protocol has already been approved by the Head Researcher.
Signed,
Dr. █████.
Addendum.462.02:
Overview: To test RPC-462's semi-adhesive surface, a mixture of water and soap was routed to the containment's sprinkler system in an attempt to neutralize its adhesion. Upon activation, RPC-462 was doused in the liquid and suffered enough trauma from the sprinkler's pressure to enter an inactive state. A drone was sent into the chamber and made physical contact with RPC-462, resulting in it getting stuck despite the solvent liquid still being present on its surface. The experiment was concluded as a failure.
Aftermath: RPC-462 activated and crushed the drone using its arms. It henceforth moved to the southwesternmost wall and repeatedly struck it until it breached containment. Stationed ASF personnel attempted to subdue the entity, only to miss >95% of all shots. (View Breach Report "482-01" for more information.)
BREACH REPORT: 462-01
On 02/18/2007 at 7:08 PM, RPC-462 breached containment for approximately thirty minutes in part due to its aggressive nature and durability, and was contained with some difficulty by ASF personnel. The entity was held in temporary containment before the damages were repaired in 2 days.
RPC-462's containment protocols have been updated to include higher-grade walling consisting of steel-reinforced concrete.
Approximate casualties from incident: 0.
Addendum.462.03:
Overview: Dr. █████ inquired what may occur if an RPC-462 chunk was consumed in the entity's presence. After incapacitating RPC-462 as per protocol, an Odocoileus virginianus was introduced into the chamber and fed the portion. An hour later, the subject combusts into candy as expected. After regeneration concluded, RPC-462 approached and absorbed the subject's remains, gaining 2m3 in the process.
Aftermath: New mass has shown no sign of deterioration and is hypothesized to be permanent.
