Following recent events, the following orders are effective immediately: All experimentation on RPC-478 is to be concluded. All research on RPC-478-Δ dynamics is to be concluded. All efforts outside of containment maintenance of RPC-478 must be directed to ascertaining the factors which determine Δ-quantity. This task is principal toward incapacitating the phenomenon for the safety of assigned personnel.

Containment Protocols: RPC-478 is to be contained in Site-███, sealed in a humanoid containment chamber fortified according to the discretion of its assigned Containment Lead. The observation window separating RPC-478's containment chamber from the observation deck is to be similarly fortified with braces and similar methods to resist ballistic impact. This window is currently under review and may be removed in the future.

Access to RPC-478's chamber is to be restricted via a vestibule composed of a remotely-actuated inner door and a keypad-locked blast door. Access into RPC-478's chamber is not necessary under any circumstances and is thus forbidden.

Inert RPC-478.

Description: RPC-478 is a metal dental phantom, appearing visually consistent to those fabricated sometime in the 1940s. The object bears no serial number, identification code, manufacturer code, or any other such designation that allows further identification. Physically, RPC-478 is composed mostly of separate aluminum sections that have been screwed and/or welded together. The top half of the object resembles a human cranium, with an anterior extrusion approximating its nose. Bent metal surfaces curve at the sides of RPC-478 to complete the temporal and zygomatic regions of the cranium, as well as appear to extend downward to take the shape of the mandible. RPC-478's bottom jaw is affixed in place as well as suspended below the upper jaw by 2 mirrored aluminum beams that curve to connect to the occiput. The lower jaw is otherwise disconnected from the rest of the structure.

RPC-478 possesses a complete set of adult human teeth, with some being structurally supported by a manifold brass filament. This set is visually and radiologically indistinct to those of organic human teeth, although concrete verification is made effectively impossible due to the nature of RPC-478's behavior. The teeth are seated securely into a granite composite material shaped to resemble gums.

RPC-478 possesses a concentric orifice in the center of the occiput, and is made of the same aforementioned granite material. From this occipital orifice, the object is capable of emitting RPC-478-Δ.

RPC-478 is sapient, intelligent, and highly manipulative. Moreover, it appears to be aware of its status of containment. RPC-478 displays consistent aggression toward humans, utilizing RPC-478-Δ to cause damage, circumvent containment systems, and overload physical structures.

RPC-478-Δ collectively designates the highly-animate black shards produced by RPC-478 which render numerous deteriorative effects to biological tissue upon contact (review the Exposure Table for more information). RPC-478-Δ appears to be an organized mass that is capable of permanent suspension within the air, and is capable of being projected in part or in whole in any vector that it desires. While the exact machinations of RPC-478-Δ's animation is the subject of minor dispute,¹ the accepted position is that RPC-478 asserts total psychotronic influence over RPC-478-Δ. Single units of RPC-478-Δ are terminated outside of a 30 meter radius of RPC-478 for periods of time in excess of 24 seconds.² In most manifestations of RPC-478-Δ, hereafter referred to as Δ-formations, RPC-478 serves as the commanding head of the system and RPC-478-Δ takes the role of appendages and/or body parts. RPC-478 is granted levitation and congruent higher-level vector direction through the constant force of a layer of RPC-478-Δ on the base of RPC-478 or inside of the occipital orifice. Radiological scans of RPC-478-Δ have revealed a homogenous material composure of decomposed tooth enamel, dentin, and cementum. The shards are remarkably harder than mundane instances of the aforementioned composite material, and provide incredible ballistic resistance. Individual shards are typically flat and sharp, measuring an average 2.28 milimeters in thickness and featuring notable variation.

RPC-478 is capable of producing a limited quantity of RPC-478-Δ (referred to as Δ-quantity), the upper limit of which appearing to vary throughout its history. The exact factors that determine Δ-quantity are the subject of active research and have not yet been pinpointed. Despite displaying highly cryptic behavior, RPC-478 definitely demonstrates sapience and high levels of intelligence on par with that of adult human beings. RPC-478 comprehends the significance behind typical objects such as door buttons, keyholes, human orifices, etc., and subsequently will make use of its psychotronic effect to target these objects and manoeuvre through them to some end. It is not understood how RPC-478 possesses vision given its lack of sensory apparati. Remarkably, RPC-478 is confirmed to have complete sensory knowledge of all environments that contain shards of RPC-478-Δ; portions of RPC-478-Δ have been observed leaving the greater mass to manipulate its environment in places outside of the line of sight of RPC-478. Osteocyte groups exposed to accumulations of amoebafied erythrocytes rapidly develop lytic lesions via an unclear mechanism. It is believed a yet unidentified chemical agent involved in the activation of osteoclasts is a byproduct of erythrocytes digestion induced by RPC-478-Δ.

Bone-lining cell structures are actively damaged via hemorrhage carrying amoebafied erythrocytes, which rapidly exposes osteocyte groups to further degradation and creates cascading hemorrhages. In combination, both effects gradually liquefy the internal structures of individual bones while weakening the integrity of their exterior layers.

In sufficient exposure, these effects are responsible for the complete degradation and subsequent collapse of the subject's biological structure. Such a reaction produces exorbitant quantities of heat and gas, as the chemical reaction produces temperatures that boil both the moisture off of the flesh as well as body fluids. Granted the shard-like physical structure of each RPC-478-Δ particle as well as its method of locomotion, RPC-478-Δ ashes are capable of complete penetration through the body as well as soft materials, with negligible loss of kinetic energy. This allows RPC-478 to quickly pass through and terminate large groups of life.

REPORT DESCRIPTION:

Mobile Specialized Team Charlie-9 ("Countryside Hypocrites") were dispatched to a remote settlement in Virginia established by a Children of Nihil sect, following pertinent information from Authority Central Intelligence. They appear to be devoted to a deity referred to as the "Engineer," common in the Nihil pantheon.

The intel suggested that the location in question was the site of a firefight between the sect and an AoI not present during the incident. Consistent with historical Nihil cult activity, the group's specific motivations and beliefs do not comport to the standard pantheon. What is known about them can only be ascertained below.

The following events are documented via aerial reconnaissance.

0212 HOURS: The settlement appears to be constructed of wood and low-grade materials. The compound spans roughly three acres, and is completely surrounded with spiked wooden logs that obscure the inside. There is a singular entrance on the northeast corner, which is continuously manned by Nihilites armed with highly-modified long guns. Each firearm identified appeared to be individually modified according to the discretion of the user, the purpose and nature of such modifications appearing to be indiscernible: Pieces of scrap metal welded to the barrel, crudely-constructed LED displays fixed to the upper receiver, all alongside what appears to be high tech weaponry sourced from a third party.

The settlement appears to be in a state of quiet, as they are disposing of bodies after sustaining a firefight from a third party of interest. Nihilites are seen repairing damaged infrastructure, debriefing members, and scouting out for additional targets along the treeline.

The compound is now engulfed in flames at several points near the blast site, which is now a large opening directly into the compound. Charlie-09 does not wait for the smoke to clear to begin firing through the new entry point at acquired targets.

0226 HOURS: Five enemies are terminated from gunshot wounds. Nihilites are seen advancing to the line of sight established at LYNCHPIN Southwest, appearing to regroup around the new front. Few enemies are seen returning fire in a deliberate manner. Many return fire haphazardly before realizing the advancement of the flames is beginning to render catastrophic damage to the settlement infrastructure, and are forced to abandon the front to extinguish the fire.

At 0302 HOURS, MST Charlie-09 ("Countryside Hypocrites") reported total operational success to command and withdrew from the site. The remaining two Nihilites were acquired and are currently under Authority custody. Very little documentation and paraphernalia associated with the cult could be confiscated from the site due to the advancing condition of the fire.

Interrogations with the remaining Nihilites in conjunction with internal staff cross-referencing ascertained that they are, in fact, high-ranking Nucorp employees that have infiltrated the corporation. It appears that such infiltration has been motivated by the cult's intention to amass to themselves vast swaths of anomalous technology for the purposes of winning favor with the deity they worship, among other things. It is believed that Nucorp Industries had come to ascertain the appropriation of assets by their own employees, and, in some manner, come to ascertain that RPC-478 was located in the compound, which sparked the conflict. The Nihilites referred to RPC-478 several times in the interrogation as "the angel of the sun, hammer of the engineer", believing that RPC-478 is somehow affiliated with this deity. Information regarding RPC-478's history or any current behavior that suggests which currently remains to be seen. It is to be noted that the cult members are incapable of providing information on RPC-478's history or mechanics, but correctly believe it to be sapient, animate, and capable of mass termination of life. They also have claimed, in addition, that the location and timing of the autonomous zone was deliberately chosen by the Nihilites in preparation for the reception of RPC-478 from "another world," appearing suddenly within the forested region from no ascertainable prior location.

Embedded ACI agent, dispatched to mask as user "qtPieRosa223" and monitor "BRIMSTONE OF TRUTH" broadcasts, shortly activated a feed killswitch to end the stream, notifying higher-ups of the information breach and setting off Incident Report: TATTLETALE. Mr. Love was detained and amnesticized by the Authority, the data pertaining to the information breach was seized, and Mr. Love was released to his home shortly after. Embedded web agents masking as members of Mr. Love's fanbase would go on over the course of the following weeks to send in chat-donations, convincing Mr. Love that members inside of his chat were "gaslighting trolls" trying to make him believe in the existence of a mystical video expose that he never recorded. This has resulted in success.

It is to be noted that the "qtPieRosa223" user, despite multiple attempts to enamor Mr. Love with donations and chat-praises for the purposes of indirect Authority-scoped alignment, has failed to receive any attention from the personality and has been accused of being a federal agent by other chat-members.

While being physically impossible, RPC-478 is capable of vocalization through emission of soundwaves from between the upper and lower jaw. Vocalizations take the form of snarls, wheezes, as well as simultaneous combinations thereof that are not replicable by typical human speech. Furthermore, RPC-478 is known to emit vocalizations roughly consistent with human speech, although incredibly flawed and incomprehensible, taking the form of disconnected and unrelated syllables that are appended together, not taking the form of any identifiable language but aligning with those syllable pairs found in Nordic/English languages. Breaths, lip smacks, and other sounds consistent with human speech are not uncommon during this variant of vocalization.

Below is an audio transcription of a recording of such a vocalization, captured through microphones in the containment chamber that connect to audio output terminals in the observation room. Note the presence of RPC-478-Δ within the audio as ash particles collide against the observation window. During the time of recording, RPC-478-Δ took the form of dual-cycling cumulus clouds, with RPC-478 at the center, pacing around the containment chamber in a shape of a rough figure-8 pattern.

Director Stanley: Ah, it's in use right now.

Mr. Alderidge: By whom?

Mr. Alderidge grabs the chair and sits down, saying:

Mr. Alderidge: I was just speaking with your lovely secretary about our recent fabulous successes with-

Director Stanley: What is clause 33 of the RPCA-Nucorp Joint Partnership Program?

Mr. Alderidge: Director?

Director Stanley does not respond. He is looking down at the documents on the desk. There is a long pause as Mr. Alderidge stares at Director Stanley, with a confused expression that eventually turns firm. He swallows.

Mr. Alderidge: I'm not getting good signals from you, Director. If there's something wrong, I'd prefer if we could discuss it now.

Director Stanley: I'm trying to.

Mr. Alderidge shifts his head back, opening his mouth in preparation to speak, seemingly trying to find the verbatim clause in his mind. He recites it from memory, furrowing his brow and making eye contact with Director Stanley. Turning his head to the right and bobbing his head with cautious discernment, he delivers the clause:

Mr. Alderidge: "The RPC Authority is to receive an exhaustive copy of all Nucorp-related project documentation in perpetuity. Nucorp will provide quarterly updates to an Authority representative who will disseminate the documentation internally as necessary."

Director Stanley: Exhaustive.

Mr. Alderidge: That is correct, Director.

Director Stanley: What is this object, Oswald?

Director Stanley slides a photograph of RPC-478 to Mr. Alderidge, who studies it scrupulously for a long moment. Leaning back, Alderidge removes his glasses and dangles it in one hand, putting his head down and rubbing the sides of his nasal bridge with the other, sighing.

Director Stanley doesn't react, instead thoughtlessly arranging the documentation on the cold metal desk as he waits for an answer in complete silence, spanning many moments. Alderidge's tone drops from its upbeat and polite candor in exchange for one that is solemn.

Mr. Alderidge: Do you have it?

Director Stanley: Yes. It's here.

Mr. Alderidge balls his fist and leans his septum on it, seemingly trying to navigate the dilemma in his mind.

Mr. Alderidge: Has it activated?

Director Stanley: Yes.

Mr. Alderidge: We tried to recover it, you know. Cost us twelve men. It was fine how we kept it.

Smiling nervously, he swirls his hand upward to gesture toward the Site as a whole.

Mr. Alderidge: Contained, right?

Director Stanley: And now it's here. Which means you made a mistake. You should have left it to us, it's what we do, Oswald.

I don't know what to say, quite frankly I'm shocked. We had an agreement. If it were anything but what we have surrounded with concrete down there now maybe I would have looked the other way.

Mr. Alderidge: On behalf of Nucorp Industries, Director, we offer our most sincere apologies.

Director Stanley: Why did you hide it from us?

Mr. Alderidge: It wasn't my decision. I don't think I'm even equipped to know why. I will make sure you get all the information we have on it. Like you were meant to, maybe then you'll find out?

Director Stanley: How soon can you get it?

Mr. Alderidge: Of course- I'll contact Mr. van der Berg right now.

We would really like to mass-manufacture Caries once we figure out exactly how this first particular one works. The efforts into reverse-engineering its machinations have thus yielded quite pathetically; we weren't precisely left with a treasure trove of information on its internal mechanisms, or really anything at all. The Ersatz Committee have, rather bizarrely, failed to return our correspondence subsequent to the finalization of logistical communications regarding the liquidation auction. In spite of this, I do greatly believe that the sheer versatility of projecting one's mind onto the swarm can bring a veritable manyfold applications which ought not be constricted merely to the medical field.

For something so complicated it may come as a surprise as it often does to first-time users just how intuitive it is to use. No blasted control panel, no wires to plug and interchange, it simply works straight from one's intuition. I and my colleagues all agree that getting it to stay in the hands of the consumer will be a very buttery-smooth process once we're able to select a… more visually-appealing vessel.

I know your reticence toward Carie stems from how ugly it appears on the outside, but as you've admitted yourself it is not that ugly on the "inside"; the technology within it, once fully understood, has limitless possibilities. I ask for your continued gentle patience.

09.03.1947. Internal memo.

The projection of the consciousness is a marvel unlike anything we've ever seen. We have been utilizing it to visualize 3-dimensional charts of engine performance. One thing that is quite uncanny is its ability to instantly determine the desired axes and scaling of the user, without a moment of their own deliberation. After the user reviews a chart of engine speed (in RPM), throttle opening (in %), and horsepower output, Carie appears to know exactly the perfect layout, scaling, and rather delightfully, even labels! All of us admit that we spend no time deliberating over how to showcase data, it's like it just knows!

12.03.1947. Internal memo.

We've tasked one quite scrawny fellow with the suspension of a one tonne metal beam in the warehouse. That young fellow has lifted more kilograms in that one afternoon than any bodybuilder has in their entire career. We saw the vitroids take the form of what looked like a barrage of hands, all grabbing and lifting this old beam at once with alarming ease.

It seems that Carie produces as many vitroids as necessary for the task at hand without user specification. We believe that the device is capable of accessing the memories in conjunction with the conscious thought of the user, both during and after contact with it. We observe a rather tight correlation between the strength of memories regarding task parameters and the number/agility of the created vitroids. The stronger the memories one has made that are associated with the task, the stronger Carie will be able to fulfill it. We have also observed that the presence of skilled observers being used in tandem with the user greatly aids its task completion. This is the working theory, do note that it is not consistent with absolutely all of our observations, but it's one that helps me sleep easier for the time being given that it is one tough nut to crack.

I ask again that you maintain your patience, we have made major strides since the auction.

19.03.1947. Internal memo.

I'm shutting down the Carie project. It's locked inside a Nuseal Safe. It wouldn't be my best choice of container, it's designed to keep things outside from getting in rather than vice versa, but it was the most effective decision at the time. For the love of God, never open it. I want you to find the most secure location to store it. Perhaps you should speak to one of your partners who specialize in sealing abominations.

It was going along so swimmingly; you were present for many experiments and you shared in my joy. I'm beyond grateful that you had run off to Spain for your investor meeting when he ran this dreaded experiment.

As you know, Stanford was a dentist prior to his acquisition by Nucorp. We told him to use Carie to simulate a patient. It is a dental phantom after all, and we had believed what could be better for a dental phantom except for one that acted like a patient too? This connection is simply an eventuality, one we ALL had, and I ask for your charity on this matter!

It took the form of a man, quite tall one too, and walked around the room. Morewell put his hand out to Carie, and the two shook hands! We were even more surprised when it lied down in the dental chair after we asked it to! We couldn't believe what we were seeing.

It lied down in the chair, and then it got up, and flew right through Morewell. Right through. He melted and collapsed where he stood moments ago. Then it took everyone else in the room. In my cowardice I ran as fast as I could after Morewell went. I had never seen this kind of behavior with vitroid human contact, none of us had.

I reviewed the closed circuit television. After I left, it burst forth with vitroids, erecting a wall and fully blocking the exit of that cold little dental room. I watched Carl try to take after me. He ran through the wall and came out the other side like swiss cheese. It— Carie —maimed everyone, one after another, It was… creative with it. Slow. Morewell was the luckiest, except for myself I suppose. I watched, puking, as it grabbed Christine's arm. Her poor skin looked to be bubbling. It watched her. Pointing its head at her hand which it splayed out, and then bending each of her fingers back farther than her poor hand could ever support, it looked back to watch her wail and scream and pound on its head with her other arm. I watched a bird of some kind emerge from Carie's sternum and fly through her other arm before it attacked another scientist. When she lost consciousness it let go of her, and moved on to the next sorry victim. I won't explain what it did to the rest of them. I want you to watch the rest for yourself- I don't wish to be alone in my terror. Please.

I don't know why, but once they had all gone it allowed itself to go… limp. Floating weightlessly. Stained with blood that dripped off of its body, or rather the vitroids that mimicked it. It gently reverberated off a few walls before all of its vitroids disappeared back into Carie and it fell onto the hospital bed, bouncing onto the wheeled dental tray and it just… stopped. The dreaded show was over. I watched myself burst into the room ten minutes later with the safe after I had mustered up the courage to at least die trying to seal it away. I can't believe it let me. I believe something had limited it, because for what other purpose would it simply let me handle it, much less throw it into that dingy box?

20.03.1947. Remote correspondence.

Dear Dr. Arthur Alderidge,

I will review the footage upon my return.

We unfortunately cannot put it into the custody of the Registered Phenomena Codex Authority. The Ersatz Committee is an exterior branch of what was left of the German Anomalous Research Division, focused on external associations and contracting. It is part of an impromptu reformation of those rather unkind gentlemen following their destruction. I would wager those fellows hosted that auction to scrounge up whatever capital they could (they are pitifully destitute). That said, it would have been advantageous to have ascertained their origin prior to making any purchase with them, but the damage is done.

My dear and dire Doctor Alderidge, it seems we've accidentally purchased some kind of Nazi super-weapon. It is for this reason that the Authority cannot come to ascertain we hold it, which means we've got to hold it for the foreseeable future. There is a two-decades-long plan I have for Nucorp Industries that involves our continued partnership. Please understand it was not myself who authorized this purchase, but someone who reports to me. Or rather, had reported. He has been summarily excised.

I will re-allocate some men to keep you company. This stains my heart and I know my father would not have stood for this.

26.03.1947. Internal memo.

The Nuseal Safe technology has proven effective; we've yet to record any disturbance within Carie's little impromptu prison. It remains in that little room for the time being, and, given the nature of the technology itself, cannot be moved. They are designed to spatially lock themselves into place. The only way to move it is to disengage the safe and free it in the process, or move the entirety of the floor and wall with it.

We attribute our continued existences to two facts, a) that Nuseal technology is designed to make use of our patented Pinch Resonance, which manipulate the space around the seams of the safe to effectively eliminate said seams entirely, and b), that it would appear Carie's task, namely "become autonomous" must have terminated with the killing of the user Dr. Swynford, who unwittingly initiated the bloodbath on Wednesday. Indeed, this is my best understanding of what happened. I believe that up until this point, Carie's tasks have been insular, "move object from point A to B," "take the form of so-and-so chart," et cetera. On Wednesday, however, when Dr. Swynford initiated the task of having Carie act like a dental patient, his consciousness must have projected some degree of autonomy toward the task, as that is what the mind would have one believe once they see a walking moving construct in the form of a human. This was further reinforced by the rest of the observers, which produced some runaway effect and turned Carie into… "something that can make its own decisions." An agent, in the purest sense.

We thought Carie's agency and personage into existence that day. We don't know if its violent personality was a product of its own decision-making process or if it was something that one or more of us projected into it that day. Should we ascertain the latter, I would wager that the unseemliness of Carie's vessel must have inadvertently contributed to it.

Apart from myself, nobody has entered the room since I locked it. We will reserve that room in perpetuity for the imprisonment of Carie per your orders. I will oversee the continued operation and power supply of the safe.

Fantastic afternoon, ladies and gentlemen of Nucorp Industries.

Tomorrow is the first decade anniversary of our successful test of the Phasegate. This technology has opened (in many respects) a great deal of opportunities for our enterprise, and Mr. Damien van der Berg intends to seize every last morsel of it to ensure our continued success. As he personally promised and arranged, he is treating us this weekend to a fabulous coast-side company dinner at The Grand Hotel in Brighton to celebrate the massive headway that Nucorp Industries has made thanks to your talented dedication.

Now, as far as seizing every said last morsel is concerned, Mr. van der Berg has made the executive decision regarding a historically-unruly-and-rather-old Nucorp prototype whose performance had shown little promise. It has caused the van der Bergs a great deal of stress which we are finally going to extirpate thanks to the bold initiative of our new CEO. Our task is to dispose of the technology, along with the safe that contains it, into the ALTR-BV12 runoff dimension. It will go through the Phasegate and we will be done with it.

As some of you may know, we have kept room 109 locked for a great many decades. As some of you may know, this is because we are physically unable to move the safe within it without disengaging its lock. It is rather antiquated technology which we have iterated over endlessly since then, so some of you may be surprised to find out that the design has seen more years than a few of you! Given this physical constraint, we are unable to simply pick up the safe and toss it into the Phasegate.

Instead, our esteemed and bold CEO Mr. Damien van der Berg has come up with a fabulous plan: We are going to:

Apart from being a sterling successful celebration, our Saturday company dinner featured a great many of you personally expressing your rather-unbecoming disapproval toward the interdimensional disposal of the Nuseal safe in room 109. I have, as well (and rather unbecomingly), been subject to the allegation that I have been dismissive of your concerns regarding the matter. To dispel such an allegation, allow me to summarize to you your most principal concern that night:

There is a theory among our engineers that the dated Nuseal "Pinch Resonance" technology has "unstable," "unpredictable" effects upon contact with Nu-particles, namely those which are emitted in droves during the sustainment of the Phasegate. I have received rather ridiculous conjectures, "explosions," "tears in the Nusphere," "catastrophic baryonic transfer" to name a few!

We are requesting immediate assistance from anyone in the Nusphere pertaining to an as-of-yet unidentified entity that has appeared without warning throughout multiple dimensions.

This entity first appeared in ALTR-BV12. This dimension is commonly used throughout timelines to deposit unwanted and dangerous artifacts. It is not known if the origin of this entity can then be attributed to one of us, but if it is indeed the case, the Nusphere asks that you speak up as soon as possible.

This phantom appears to be capable of interdimensional travel using what we have ascertained is a confluence of Nu-particles and spatial manipulation technology bearing close resemblance to old Nucorp patents. It would appear this deranged abomination is capable of "spending" a quantity of its deadly shards in exchange for a single jump between dimensions or within a single universe. It appears that it only has access to shards that it creates in the dimension it is currently present in. Understand that it requires a great deal of particles to exchange for transfer, and since it appears to grow in scale with senseless violence, each jump is proof of an insulated genocide.

A host of evidences points toward the involvement of at least one Nusphere participant. If such is the case, we are seeking remediation for the following:

Additional documents are attached to the above compendium sent by Mr. Alderidge subsequent to his interview with Site Director Stanley; appearing to discuss the fact that Nucorp Industries had inadvertently imbued RPC-478 with the capability to instantaneously transport both between realities and within one reality. Such behavior has yet to be observed by the Authority, as it is believed RPC-478's continued containment prevents the development of sufficient Δ-quantity.

While the above documentation theorizes that Δ-quantity directly scales with the strength of memories associated with RPC-478, other possibilities have yet to be ruled out and, more importantly, experimentation to confirm this fact may weaken containment efforts. Granting the theory, it is then believed that RPC-478's sadistic behavior can be attributed to an attempt to maximize the lucidity of memories associated with it such that it may continue to manifest and accrue power.

RPC-478 had not demonstrated sapient capabilities prior to its immediate containment, and had only begun to manifest RPC-478-Δ after one hour following placement into its provisional default-high-risk containment unit. The aforementioned information describing RPC-478's intelligent and highly-deliberate behavior has caused increased tension among Site staff, who had thus only documented and observed what was believed to be a low-intelligence incidentally-dangerous anomalous object.

Foreword: It is to be noted with emphasis that the newly-acquired Nucorp documentation incited reports of increased tension among staff associated with assigned duty to RPC-478. Namely, personnel have been documented sharing frequent concerns of a "self-fulfilling prophecy" that the above Nucorp documentation purportedly implies, whereby the collective anxiety associated with RPC-478 will provide sufficient empowerment for it to breach containment. The anxiety has been reportedly bolstered by the possibility that RPC-478 may possess the ability to perform instant intradimensional relocation at a time of its choosing, and is merely deciding to remain in containment. The veracity of the foregoing has yet to be ascertained, and higher-ranking administrative personnel have maintained an official narrative that the current state of Δ-quantity forbids this.

RPC-478's containment unit originally featured a braced, reinforced, kinetic-resistant window connecting the observation deck to its containment chamber, which assigned personnel have been seen frequently using to observe RPC-478 at a frequency higher than in months prior. RPC-478 has maintained a continuous collection of a dozen RPC-478-Δ continually pressed to adhere to the surface of the observation window.

Observed Δ-quantity has increased marginally in the months following the RPC-478 Nucorp disclosure, and the object had taken the form of amorphous masses no larger in volume than 80 cubic centimetres, aimlessly flying in repetitive loops within its containment chamber, with only minor variation in form manifestations. It was discovered that a researcher had left the access code to RPC-478's containment unit on a printed sheet of paper within the line of sight of the RPC-478-Δ adhering to the window.

Containment Breach Timeline 6/10/2026

At 3:32AM EST, RPC-478-Δ had increased to a volume filling ~15% of the containment chamber. All of this mass was then pressed together into what appeared on surveillance to be the shape of an automotive-sized spearhead. This Δ-formation violently struck the inner vestibule door of the containment chamber, granting RPC-478 access to the keypad panel on the other end of the vestibule which controls the operation of a reinforced blast door. RPC-478 relocated to the keypad panel and supposedly inputted the correct code, triggering a containment breach and activating Site-wide alarms.

At 3:35AM EST, Site-███ ASF teams were dispatched to the Lower Block of the Heavy Containment Ward, and under their command the block exposed to RPC-478 was quarantined via remote deadbolts, preventing escape of the ASF, proximate personnel, and RPC-478.

At 3:52AM EST, Contact between RPC-478 and the ASF was established. RPC-478 was located "sitting" on an office chair inside an observation room, enforming RPC-478-Δ in the form of a humanoid. The observation room of contact was attached to the containment unit for an unrelated RPC, which RPC-478 remarkably demonstrated little interest in, and vice versa. The chair was fully reclined and RPC-478 appeared to be laying back in a relaxed position, making a slow clapping motion with its enformed hands as 5 living researchers were huddling in the northeast corner of the deck.⁷ The object was faced towards Researcher Musgrave, who was on his knees in a state of incapacitation. A large gaping wound was observed on the Researcher's left interscapular region of his back, which revealed coursing currents of RPC-478-Δ under direct illumination from ASF flashlights. Remarkably, Musgrave's vertebrae were intentionally preserved. The Researcher appeared to be convulsing in alternating states of awareness, repeatedly gaining consciousness to vocalize in pain and express terror before returning back into unconsciousness.

Autopsy reports revealed that a contingent of RPC-478-Δ had fully penetrated into the Researcher, according to witnesses for the purpose of being puppeteered by RPC-478 from the inside. Witnesses reported that the Researcher was made to wave to his colleagues, and stretch his body which served to cause his epidermis to rupture in particular points of tension. Once ASF personnel entered the room, the Researcher's body was made to turn toward the entrance and face the responding personnel, appearing to pose with arms akimbo before raising his left arm to pantomime checking a non-existent watch, and then shaking the Researcher's head. It was reported by witnesses that prior to ASF contact, RPC-478 had allowed for a swarm of RPC-478-Δ to stream out of its main humanoid to construct a duplicate one, which then "scooped a hole" into the Researcher's back before streaming into him through it. The RPC forbade exit of the room and effectively forced the researchers within it to observe the incident. The secondary humanoid lacked the portions of the head above the bottom jaw.

ASF personnel immediately opened fire upon RPC-478. RPC-478-Δ violently exited Researcher Musgrave through the mouth and what was later confirmed to be eighteen exit holes throughout the body, rendering him deceased due to bloodloss. This mass attacked personnel alongside the main swarm.

At 3:54AM EST, it was determined that sustained gunfire could not damage RPC-478, but when concentrated can effectively render RPC-478-Δ shards inert as they are structurally perforated. It is at this time that ASF personnel had documented the corpse of janitor Wallace Banford, who appeared to have suffered RPC-478's first puppeteering attempt, but had reportedly collapsed from catastrophic damage to the vertebrae in conjunction with widespread gelatinization of his body. The staff member had been completely dismembered laterally at the abdomen. The staff member's face had gelatinized and adhered to the floor as he had fallen face down, requiring post-breach containment staff several hours to scrape the residue of his rough silhouette and facial image off of the floor.

At 4:01AM EST, sustained gunfire had rendered an observed decrease in Δ-quantity. All parts of the enformed humanoid had been obliterated, leaving inert detritus on the floor which rapidly transmuted into ashes. However, the enformed humanoid's left hand had survived the gunfire. Upon destruction of its body, the levitating left hand had flown out in a wide arc that returned to "grab" RPC-478 by the bottom jaw, and swung it with enough force to fully penetrate through another researcher's head before embedding itself halfway into the window of the observation deck, which had been separating the unrelated RPC from the incident. The structural damage RPC-478 imparted allowed for the unrelated RPC to breach containment and prevent the closure of the containment breach with RPC-478's incapacitation. The intervening researcher's corpse was pinned against the glass as what survived of the back of the cranium and vertebrae had been violently lodged into the glass alongside the incapacitated RPC-478.

At 4:56AM EST, The unrelated RPC was recontained. RPC-478 had been acquired off of the floor and was recontained.

Researcher ███████ made testimony that during the secondary containment breach, RPC-478 had "rolled over" to the corner in which she was huddling, and RPC-478 appeared to face and watch the secondary firefight alongside her, ducking behind the desk she hid behind when she had, and peeking when she had. She attested that RPC-478 had turned to face her at various points, utilizing what Δ-quantity remained to enform a left hand that initially pantomimed a hushing gesture before pantomiming gestures of shock and intrigue in reaction to the firefight. Researcher ███████ then swatted at RPC-478 and kicked it away from her person before she retreated to a corner containing more hiding personnel. The RPC then appeared to become inert. These events cannot be corroborated at this time, but the Researcher in question was responsible for pointing out the location of the inert RPC-478 within the room once ASF personnel had the mental resources to contain it.

Closing Notes: Ballistic weapons appear to be effective against RPC-478-Δ. No damage has been observed on RPC-478 from the incident. Site-███ has been modified to feature deployable fully-automatic HOOTL scattergun sentries designed to track RPC-478-Δ
and assail the object into incapacitance in the event of a containment breach. A manual weapon has been installed in RPC-478's containment chamber. The keypad door has been replaced with a retinal scanner. Surviving personnel involved in CONTAINMENT BREACH 478-A applied for the administration of class A-2 amnestics. Applications denied by reason of excessive prior use.

Foreword: The months following CONTAINMENT BREACH 478-A prompted the Authority to determine fallback defense infrastructure against RPC-478. Testing trials determined that the application of ranged incendiary flame-projection arms proved successful in incapacitating RPC-478. The object appeared to not only decrease in Δ-quantity, but also physically react negatively to the application of flames. Recorded trials determined that time-to-incapacitance can be estimated to 15-30 seconds subsequent to exposure of incendiary arms. MST Yankee-09 ("Kaiju Buster") have been stationed near Site-███ and equipped with these devices in the event of a containment breach. On-site ASF personnel have been equipped with these devices in the event of a containment breach.

Containment Breach Timeline 8/03/2026

At 7:51PM EST, Δ-quantity within RPC-478's containment chamber began to rise above a threshold that automatically enables HOOTL sentries. The devices deployed from one end of the containment chamber positioned to protect the exit. RPC-478 enformed an amalgamation of several humanoids; entire body constructs were observed emerging from the main humanoid's back, all joined at the neck and decreasing in size along the recursive form. Few bodies appeared to convulse and writhe "as if attempting to dislodge from the greater mass." A large disorganized cloud of RPC-478-Δ accompanied the enformed body.

Sentries began to open fire on RPC-478. Sparks were observed as bullets deflected off of and collapsed against RPC-478, and the sustained gunfire lasted approximately 2 minutes until they began reloading.

At 7:53PM EST, recorded Δ-quantity had not been affected. During the second round of gunfire, personnel determined that each individual shard of RPC-478-Δ had been manoeuvring to elude the trajectory of scattergun pellets with remarkable acceleration, and thus zero bullets were capable of making contact with RPC-478-Δ. The concrete wall behind RPC-478 had shown considerable damage to the gunfire, and began to crumble.

At 7:55PM EST, when the sentries reloaded for a second time, exorbitant masses of RPC-478-Δ were directed into the barrels of both weapons. When they opened fire for the third time, they had collided with the RPC-478-Δ inside of the barrel and exploded instantly from the undirected pressure wave, igniting the lithium-ion batteries that powered the weapons.

At 8:12PM EST, the fire within the containment chamber had escalated to the degree that the vestibule doors of the chamber had melted. RPC-478 accelerated to a great velocity and penetrated through the flames and weakened doors at ~127km/hr, triggering a containment breach and activating Site-wide alarms. MST Yankee-09 ("Kaiju Buster") dispatched to Site-███.

At 8:37PM EST, 23 personnel were confirmed to have been terminated. Smaller-sized deformed RPC-478-Δ humanoids, all lacking heads, were testified to detach from the main mass, continuing to convulse violently and rotate aimlessly. These constructs levitated above personnel before attacking them. Such attacks were claimed to include collision with aimless convulsing limbs, emergence of infant-shaped RPC-478-Δ from the enformed abdomen, and suddenly-lucid instances which accelerate neck-first to penetrate/slice/swarm personnel. MST Yankee-09 Site ingress confirmed.

HOOTL sentries within Site block proved remarkably ineffective.

At 9:29PM EST, 48 personnel were confirmed to have been terminated. RPC-478 appears to only terminate instantly those victims who are present within groups of other people. Isolated subjects appear to universally suffer a longer period of torture and devastation prior to their termination.

It was at this time that ASF personnel equipped with ranged incendiary flame-projectors were able to triangulate RPC-478, who had been eluding personnel via navigation through air ducts. ASF personnel did not fire upon the object per command of MST Yankee-09.

At 9:35PM EST, MST Yankee-09 reported visual confirmation of RPC-478.

At 9:42PM EST, MST Yankee-09 had determined that the positioning of RPC-478 with respect to unarmed staff permitted the fire command without threatening anyone proximate. RPC-478 was positioned at the South end of the wide transitionary corridor that leads into the Heavy Containment Lower Block. MST Yankee-09 was positioned at the North end, and coordinated into echelon left formation alongside ASF personnel.

At 9:46PM EST, Presidium Remote Command initiated the deployment of defensive walls installed into the transitionary corridor to provide cover for personnel.

RPC-478-Δ had assumed the form of a mirror-copy squadron of MST Yankee-09 and accompanying personnel. All personnel had reported their counterpart facing them across the other side of the corridor. All enformed humanoids had been posing their hands in some fashion. 5 humanoids had posed in a closed-palm praying position. 4 humanoids had posed in a hushing gesture. The most proximate humanoid appeared to lack hands. RPC-478 was lofted above them in a dense cloud of RPC-478-Δ, completely composed of the disorganized objects and convulsing deformed humanoids. Each squadron humanoid were connected to the cloud by the Δ-formation of chains connected at the head. RPC-478 remained at the bottom of the levitating cloud, facing directly down towards the ground.

At 9:50PM EST, The defensive squadron opened fire on RPC-478 with small arms and the use of a Nucorp-patented remote-release incendiary flak launcher. Capsules were launched into the cloud and squadron and exploded when they reached the deepest point of the RPC-478-Δ volume. A marginal decrease in Δ-quantity was observed.

RPC-478's party had advanced toward their human counterparts. The frontal humanoid had enformed their left hand into some fashion of cannon that "launched" dense balls of RPC-478-Δ toward the party, which appeared to burst into boid-like particles that attacked personnel with unpredictable trajectories.

An ASF personnel had rushed to their counterpart and attempted a blunt attack using the back of his rifle. It is presumed he expected kinetic resistance. The personnel had, in so doing, charged through the cloud of shards that composed the humanoid and was incapacitated prior to being shortly terminated. Autopsy showed complete necrotization of the brain and ~300 full-body perforations. The humanoid had then levitated above his corpse and assumed a docile position, levitating upside down.

At 10:02PM EST, it had been determined that the use of ballistics proved ineffective, and the defense squadron had shown 4 casualties.

At 10:05PM EST, MST Yankee-09 had issued the fire command. 4 incendiary flame-projectors had been activated, engulfing RPC-478. The ensuing smoke and flame had obscured visual confirmation. RPC-478's advancement had appeared to be mitigated. The fire command had lasted 6 minutes.

At 10:11PM EST, MST Yankee-09 had exhausted its fuel reserve. The defense squadron could not report the state of RPC-478, as the South transitionary corridor had been engulfed in a wall of flames. Neither the object nor its shards had crossed the front of the flames.

At 10:14PM EST, MST Yankee-09 reported the closure of the containment breach, reported that RPC-478 was incapacitated, and that Δ-quantity was effectively 0.

At 10:22PM EST, Contact was lost with the defense squadron. They had ceased providing updates to Presidium Remote Command, and to their Protectorate control. The defense squadron did not respond to status reports or any radio communication. It was believed the fire had affected radio transmission.

At 10:27PM EST, Presidium Remote Command suddenly received radio communication from the defense squadron, albeit significantly degraded:

There is a pause over radio communications. Then, Yankee 09-4 screams over the radio:

At 10:32PM EST, MST Yankee-09 and accompanying ASF personnel had been fully overwhelmed, only three of which having survived the altercation. Surviving personnel recounted that RPC-478 had utilized the flames to inflict additional damage to personnel and overload physical structures, as RPC-478-Δ had been heated to such a degree that individual shards began to glow with incandescence, igniting Site infrastructure and causing visceral third degree burns to personnel.

At 10:45PM EST, RPC-478 was confirmed to have fully penetrated Site-███, escalating the incident into a Shattered-One class containment breach. Multiple unrelated RPCs had frustrated containment protocols subsequent to the damage that RPC-478 had inflicted upon Site infrastructure and critical assigned personnel.

Closing Notes: The region was quarantined and resources were prioritized to recover the containment status of breached objects within the Site. Autopsies of recovered corpses demonstrated RPC-478-Δ exposure, with twelve recorded instances of remains that were gelatinatized to such a degree that forbid visual identification of the subject, including the visual identification of their individual body parts. One corpse of an ASF member within the transitionary corridor was reported to be knelt over, partially decapitated at the front and sides of the neck, being disconnected from the clavicle and shoulders but still attached to the spine. The spinal column had been crudely incised to separate from the rest of the back, only being anchored to the rest of the body from the pelvis. Because of this, the head and spine had hung out behind of the subject and arched the head until it hung upside down, behind the plane of the back. The interior viscera of the subject were visible through the opening created at the neck.

RPC-478 has demonstrated in multiple instances intentionally deceptive and manipulative behavior. The object appears to be capable of comprehending the significance behind both weapons testing and containment, and intentionally feigned incapacitance in order to allow the Authority to arm the Site with highly-defective defense measures. This deception occurred over the span of months and demonstrates the capability of long-term planning by the presently unconfined object.

It is now believed that Δ-quantity directly scales with traumatic, deeply visceral memories associated with RPC-478. Incitement of PTSD proves to be the "most visceral" and lasting memory one can maintain regarding the object. It is also believed that the anticipation of RPC-478's escape and sadism granted it the Δ-quantity to fulfill it. Extreme discretion has been mandated in perpetuity by the Global Directorate with regards to RPC-478 containment, and operations regarding the phenomenon have been placed into the direct active command of GD-NORTH.

Several millions of dollars lost and a growing hill of bodies, both in and out of uniform. This is not the reputation Nucorp promised to us back when we first shook hands. It's not the reputation your forefathers upheld when they were at the helm you're currently using to crash into the shoreline.

Lord Wilhelm van der Berg promised that the Authority was to maintain, in perpetuity, the exhaustive dossier on Nucorp technology, without a single tittle left obscured. In the most professional terms I can put it. This is not your promise to break.

RPC-478, your biggest failure, has rapidly grown out of control. Even with the information you hesitantly surrendered to us, our understanding of the anomaly doesn't grant us any further options for containment. And now the strong trust your predecessors had built with us has come to pathetically erode under your leadership. It is that same trust which once permitted us to clean things up on your behalf. But now I've come to understand that your shortcomings don't end with the Authority. And I've come to understand that your negligence has turned an already extremely complex and deceitful object into an interdimensional threat. Authority Sites and their staff are the most secure, proficient, and mentally-airtight installations on the face of the planet. I have never seen a phenomenon that could deceive such a Site into melting itself, but I suppose this is the kind of innovation that a partner can expect from Nucorp Industries. No amount of research and containment funding is going to reliably contain a killing machine that can teleport to the Louvre at its whim. This is the kind of future at our doorstep.

Let me tell you what's going to happen to you, Damien. Nucorp is to direct all of its resources and technological development toward the capture and containment of RPC-478. The Presidium is drafting a contract as I write this message and I expect your signature on it yesterday. We expect full commitment and undivided attention to the matter. If this condition is not met by the end of 48 hours, the RPC Authority will disseminate to the entirety of the Nusphere that your organization is responsible for the development of RPC-478. So help me God I will pit you against a thousand angry versions of yourself.

I'm an American. I believe in second chances. I believe that a man can start over. But I do not believe in third chances. The rest of the Directorate are even less forgiving.

The device extends Nucorp's proprietary Nuseal Safe technology to the n-th degree, equipping its holder to seal anything inside it, while nullifying Phasegate-borne extradimensional fissures with its own supply of anticharged Nuparticles. Each icosahedral shell, composed primarily of braced tungsten carbide triangulated panels, requires cubically compounding supplies of power. As such, a 3-shell PANDORA-8 can only be reliably powered by those in control of their own nuclear power facilities. We've made it easy to connect such infrastructure to shells of such magnitude.

The device is designed to couple its two hemispheres even further than at the atomic level, the atoms along each seam being perpetually maintained at a distance so miniscule that they would fuse if not for the Pinch Resonance field that space them, creating additional invisible distances between spacetime that would not exist otherwise. This creates an impenetrable seal that can only be likened to the incontrovertible command of spacetime that SMBH event horizons are known for.

The anticharged Nuparticles additionally guarantee that interdimensional jumps are locally made as impossible as the abominations they are meant to contain.

The result is as simple as the task: A partition in spacetime so overwhelming that the shell within it can be classified as its own multiverse, and only Nucorp Industries knows how to pull it off. All events within PANDORA-8 are guaranteed to be cosmologically isolated from the outer/adjacent universe(s), and vice versa. As long as the power remains on.

MST Yankee-09 ("Kaiju Buster") have been granted access and training of "PANDORA-8" usage. Discussions between the Authority and Nucorp Industries ascertain a common agreement that while PANDORA-8 will be provably effective at recontaining RPC-478, there is the pressing constraint that the object is far too intelligent and animated to be lured into the device, and must somehow be restrained prior to activation of the device. Nucorp Industries have proposed an "Interdimensional Pincer Movement," outlined below in a brief memo:

ALTR-G10 is a universe composed of a highly-corrosive orange liquid, spanning in all directions for infinity. The matter within it appears to be "dimensionally-bound" to ALTR-G10. If the liquid is taken out of the universe and congealed, there will be smaller analogous matter within ALTR-G10 that hardens too. Because they are interdimensionally-coupled, if one were to literally grab the analogue within ALTR-G10 and move it around, the adhesive matter out of universe will move congruently with an extreme certainty. I've listed multiple options thus far for immobilizing Carie RPC-478, but this one is unfortunately the best bet. I say it is unfortunate, indeed, because this liquid is so exceedingly dangerous that when it spills over through the Phasegate it will need its own containment protocols. We will have a maximum of thirty minutes to throw a submersible in it, manned by a poor sod, and hold the dreaded thing in place until we can get Pandora around it in our dimension. Any longer and the craft will be completely destroyed.

REPORT DESCRIPTION:

The location of RPC-478 has been triangulated to the approximate vicinity of the now-deserted Nihilite compound detailed in Incident Report: TATTLETALE. The object has been depicted in aerial reconnaissance locomoting through the forest, patrolling its outskirts, and assuming multiple forms while levitating directly over the carbonized remains of the outpost. Δ-quantity has now officially exceeded all prior records by orders of magnitude. Estimated Δ-quantity is approximately ~23M. According to best estimates, Δ-critical-quantity is ~30M. Δ-quantity in excess of this threshold is believed to grant RPC-478 the capacity for instant transdimensional and intradimensional relocation. MST Yankee-09 ("Kaiju Buster") has been equipped with numerous experimental Nucorp weapons to laminate RPC-478 with ALTR-G10 liquid and provide additional time for all operational objectives to be satisfied. Yankee-09-CAP has been equipped with a 1-shell PANDORA-8.

The following events are documented via aerial reconnaissance, live personal recording devices, and radio transmission. Nucorp transmissions are formatted on the left, and Authority transmissions are formatted on the right.

MST Yankee-09 is positioned on the Northern outskirt of the forest. They are waiting for approval from Presidium Remote Command to initiate the incursion. All members are clad in hermetically-sealed lightweight body-armor designed to resist perforation.

COMMAND's voice assumes an agitated tone.

Silence spanning five minutes passes over the air as COMMAND organizes intelligence.

MST Yankee-09 is seen entering the forest. RPC-478 is being actively tracked and positional updates are relayed to MST telemetry. The object is remaining in a docile state above the ashes of the former compound.

RPC-478 Δ-formation Status: Concentric four-segmented pointed rings resembling halos float directly above RPC-478 and follow it. Extremely tall humanoid body is observed under RPC-478. Estimated height is twenty meters. Limb count is six. An enformed robe drapes over the humanoid form, and is made of ordinary-sized convulsing humanoids. Neck is remarkably elongated and tapers to meet the size of RPC-478. The upper left hand is posed above its shoulder into the gesture of blessing. The upper right hand and lower left hand are posed to closely resemble the occult two-finger salute associated with Baphomet. The lower right hand is posed into an inverted Abhayamudra. The torso is composed of a vertical array of 5 joined pairs of arms forming the following Kuji-kiri hand signs from top to bottom: Jin, Zai, Rin, and Hei. The final pair of hands representing Retsu are disconnected, instead each hand being located at either end of the vertical array.

Disjointed shapes resembling platonic solids, ordinary household objects, and quadrupeds not seen in nature levitate and orbit around RPC-478. Large amorphous clouds of shards are observed intelligently flying around the vicinity. They appear to interact with each other, the aforementioned objects, and RPC-478.

It is not known for what purpose or statement that RPC-478 has assumed this form. At this time the object is not aware it is being observed.

It takes five minutes for the Phasegate to activate. It is oriented horizontally and positioned over a deep pit. The top face of the Phasegate flashes open. The loud, droning submersible is hoisted above the interdimensional portal and contains Joseph Edenvane.

[NU-ONE] NU-ZERO, this is NU-ONE. All sensors read nominal. Preliminary mission routine completed with zero abnormalities. I am ready, over.

[NU-ZERO] Copy that, NU-ONE. Joseph, how ready are you? Over.

NU-ONE chuckles over the air alongside the loud monotonous droning of the submersible. This sound echoes throughout the hangar.

[NU-ONE] I'll tell you what, I'm not gonna feel any readier the longer you make me wait. Lower me in.

[NU-ZERO] NU-ONE, Godspeed and God help you. Out.

The winch hoisting the submersible above the Phasegate is released. The submersible drops into the portal without making a sound. A deep-orange, foggy, viscous liquid splashes out of the surface of the Phasegate and spills into the pit. Several structural supports begin to corrode immediately. The Phasegate is immediately closed, and the hangar is abruptly silent.

[NU-ZERO] NU-ONE, This is NU-ZERO command. Do you copy, over.

There is silence over the air.

As MST Yankee-09 advances to 200 meters from RPC-478, they enable passive radio transmission.

`-exactly are we going to hold this fucker off? [Y09-1]`

`We can't. That's the long and short of it. We're going to blow as many of these fireworks as we can to buy us time. [Y09-CAP]`

Y09-CAP points toward the collection of handheld Nucorp weaponry that the team is equipped with.

`That is.. not reassuring? [Y09-1]`

`What do you expect from a Gamma-Purple? Reassuring was two object classes ago. Or, two containment ratings, three lethality ratings ago… [Y09-3]`

`I mean, that's if you consider yellow to be "reassuring." I guess it kinda depends- [Y09-3]`

`Focus, dash three. [Y09-CAP]`

`Yep. [Y09-3]`

`What's reassuring is this bad boy. [Y09-2]`

Y09-2 raises the dual-handed puck launcher he's holding. The device is designed to accelerate fragile capsules of congealed ALTR-G10 liquid that fracture on impact and cover the target. The liquid's adhesive properties ensure an irreversible union of itself and the target object.

`That is if Nucorp goes along with the plan. [Y09-3]`

`They have to. They can't release the pilot until we authorize it. [Y09-2]`

`And so we've put our lives in each other's hands. [Y09-3]`

`Yeah, well, how do you feel about your life being put into Nucorp's hands? [Y09-1]`

`Your predecessors felt worse. That Site may as well have been boiling. [Y09-CAP]`

`At least the air is cool around us now. [Y09-CAP]`

`CAP, we're a hundred meters out. [Y09-3]`

`COMMAND, this is Yankee-Nine-CAP. One-zero-zero meters from RPC-478, over. [Y09-CAP]`

`Roger that COMMAND. Out. [Y09-CAP]`

MST Yankee-09 establish visual confirmation of RPC-478. They take note of the Δ-formations. They prepare over the course of several minutes. Operational objective two is fulfilled.

Eight minutes later, Yankee 09-3 shoots RPC-478 with a gravitational stasis weapon. Several large radii are created that hold large portions of RPC-478-Δ within them. Yankee 09-3 launches six volleys of timed-detonation grenade launcher shells into the stasis spheres. They slow down to a stop, taking a moment before violently exploding. Δ-quantity decrease is observed.

RPC-478 does not turn to face them. A cloud of RPC-478-Δ flies into Yankee 09-3. He appears to fly backward and collides with a tree.

What follows from the assault cannot be ascertained as smoke, gravitational disturbances, extreme electromagnetic waves, and similar directed energy diffuses into the pincer site and obscures aerial reconnaissance. Personal recording devices stop reporting data streams. Passive radio communication remains the only point of contact.

The MST Captain is heard coordinating the squadron and timing them according to some unexplained manoeuvre.

Suddenly:

`FIRE! [Y09-CAP]`

A loud pneumatic release sound is captured over radio transmission. Shortly thereafter:

`COMMAND, THIS IS YANKEE-NINE-CAPTAIN! THE OBJECT HAS BEEN TAGGED! [Y09-CAP]`

`COMMAND, I REPEAT, THE OBJECT HAS BEEN TAGGED, OVER! [Y09-CAP]`

`Copy. Informing NU-ONE. [COMMAND]`

Operational objective three is fulfilled.

The obscuration dissipates. It is now revealed that MST Yankee-09 has been materially damaged. Yankee 09-1 is lying on the ground, lifesigns reading conscious. 09-CAP is watching from the ground. 09-2 and 09-3 are dangling from enformed tendrils emerging from the major humanoid's shoulders. The pointed halos appear to be extending along incredibly-high-velocity arcs that attempt to impale 09-2 repeatedly before retracting. Forty-four attempts are recorded in three seconds. Lifesigns read no effect as the armor appears effective.

RPC-478 whips 09-2 into the ground at an estimated ~36m/s. 09-2 was accelerated over the span of 0.08s. Although most trauma was incited by impact (bone fracture, hemorrhaging, etc.), 09-2 was terminated before impact with the ground due to atlanto-occipital dislocation.

`WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU NUCORP!? [Y09-CAP]`

RPC-478 Δ-formation Status: The Retsu hand-pair on the major humanoid have closed in distance to each other. They are positioned in front of the rest of the array. They are slowly continuing along a path to eventually join and complete the aforementioned hand sign. Estimated Δ-quantity is ~24M. It has now been determined that completion of the Retsu hand sign comports to the ascertainment of Δ-critical-quantity.

Two tendrils enclose around each leg of 09-3, and begin to pull apart in opposing directions. 09-3 is heard screaming over the span of minutes. Lifesign readings are consistent with severe pain and prolonged dislocation.

At this point 09-CAP begins unloading his remaining firearms as he fires upon RPC-478, screaming gutturally. The object does not react. He fires a directed energy weapon at RPC-478. Flashes of deep blue light illuminate the forest. The object does not react. Tearing noises are heard from 09-3's personal recording device.

The altercation continues, 09-CAP is about to lob an explosive at RPC-478, and telegraphs a wide pitch, screaming gutturally.

Before 09-CAP can initiate his throw, RPC-478 abruptly crashes violently downward and collides with the ground, making a large crater. It oscillates violently as it remains pressed against the dirt.

[NU-ZERO] This is NU-ZERO. Operational objective four has been achieved.

RPC-478 Δ-formation Status: The entire aforementioned structure of RPC-478-Δ, including orbiting objects, clouds, and the major humanoid completely dissipate. The Δ-formations instead form a large swirling canopy over the scene. Large regions of RPC-478-Δ oscillate violently without aim, as if RPC-478 has lost psychotronic control over them.

09-3 falls to the ground, and is convulsing in pain. He suffers a bone fracture.

09-CAP scrambles to retrieve PANDORA-8 amongst the disorganized, destroyed ammunition and weaponry. He locates and acquires both hemispheres. The Captain approaches the pinned RPC-478 and engages the containment device. It will take eight minutes until it is ready for use. Command and Nucorp are notified.

[NU-ONE] NU-ZERO. I am reporting severe corrosion damage to the submersible. I don't have a lot of time left.

[NU-ZERO] NU-ONE. Copied. They are about to secure the abomination.

[NU-ONE] No, you don't understand. I've got about a minute until the claw goes FUBAR. Three minutes max until the rest of the submersible collapses. I can't hold it in place from here.

[NU-ZERO] NU-ONE. Copied. Relay your coordinates so we can open the phasegate.

There is silence over the air.

RPC-478 is suddenly released from the ground. It enforms a regular humanoid and faces 09-CAP.

[NU-ZERO] NU-ONE. Relay coordinates.

There is silence over the air.

[NU-ZERO] NU-ONE! You need to tell us where you're at if you want to come home. The RPC guys are hopeless, it's either they die or you both die- Where are you!?

09-CAP's personal recording device begins to fail. Lifesigns read material harm.

At this time, The live feed of the submersible exterior camera suddenly switches to the point-of-view from an activated emergency submersible suit. The flashlight is on, and it shows Edenvane swimming. The claw on the submersible had failed and the object had been freed. Around five seconds later, the submersible collapses entirely. A Phasegate portal opens as Nucorp manually triangulates Edenvane's approximate position. The feed continues to show Edenvane swimming towards a bright light, presumed to be the exit portal.

09-CAP's personal recording device shows him on the ground, as RPC-478 stands above him.

Edenvane's suit begins to report corrosion damage. He approaches the exit portal, but does not pay any regard to it, instead swimming past it. NU-ZERO is screaming over the microphone.

[NU-ZERO] FOR GOD'S SAKES TURN AROUND!

Edenvane does not respond to Nucorp communication, instead thrusting through the corrosive dimension into darkness as his labored panting fills the radio transmission line.

RPC-478 Δ-formation Status: It begins to rain.

Eventually, Edenvane's suit flashlight reveals that he has approached the RPC-478 analogue. He grabs onto it and grips it with all the remaining strength the suit can provide. His suit has reported several simultaneous fissures.

RPC-478 suddenly is pinned in place. It cannot move whatsoever, and RPC-478-Δ dissipates above it and the severely-injured Captain. He ascends off the ground, regaining his balance, and encapsulates RPC-478 within the two hemispheres of PANDORA-8. He manually holds it there as two minutes remain until activation.

Edenvane's suit flashlight begins to fail, flickering between states of power. He is heard groaning in pain. The life support systems are rendered inoperable. Edenvane is only holding RPC-478 with the remaining strength he can physically exert. He is groaning loudly.

Forty-five seconds remain until activation. Edenvane's suit structurally fails and his unarmored, ordinary body is exposed to the highly-corrosive liquid. Third degree burns are theorized by this point to completely envelop his body, obliterating muscle tissue and nerve-endings. The corrosive liquid fills his lungs, and his ocular organs are completely obliterated.

In an utterly inexplicable and exceptional feat, the means by which cannot be ascertained, Joseph Edenvane is still maintaining a full grip on the RPC-478 analogue with his bare hands.

Few weakened individual shards of RPC-478-Δ attempt to drill into 09-CAP's temples. A stream of shards wrap around his leg and tear into it, causing him to scream in pain as he maintains his hold over PANDORA-8.

As ten seconds remain until activation, Joseph Edenvane should, by all metrics and calculations, be deceased. His grip on the analogue remains intact.

Several volleys of spearhead-shaped Δ-formations descend from the major cloud above. They are all converging in wide arcs to collide with 09-CAP. Few of them exceed an estimated weight of 4 tonnes. They are accelerated at catastrophically fatal speeds.

Two seconds remain until activation. The spearheads converge into one large mass and descend upon 09-CAP.

PANDORA-8 successfully activates. Operational objective five is fulfilled. Interdimensional Pincer Movement Operation: "OROCHI'S CLAW" is confirmed a total operational success.

The spearhead, having reached 3 meters from 09-CAP, is instantly transmuted into ordinary ashes, and its trajectory abruptly changes to flow at gentle speeds with the breeze. The major cloud is transmuted also, and its ashes descend to the ground slowly.

09-CAP falls backwards onto the ground and is rendered unconscious.

RPC-478 Δ-formation Status: No longer applicable.

Closing Notes: A secondary rescue team is dispatched to recover personnel, equipment, and RPC-478.

Mr. Edenvane's cadaver could not be recovered. Approximately 4620L of corrosive liquid has been documented to translocate out of ALTR-G10 during the operation. A recovery operation for Mr. Edenvane's remains would prove fruitless as they are believed to be completely dissolved.

RPC-478's updated containment protocols are to be outlined following release of this document.

Updated Containment Protocols: RPC-478 is now contained within a 3-shell PANDORA-8 Containment Sphere. A joint committee of RPC Authority and Nucorp Industries personnel has been established for continued maintenance of PANDORA-8, which is located in the fortified Lower Block of Site-███ heavy containment, designated the Edenvane Hold.

Nucorp Industries personnel assigned to continued PANDORA-8 operation are to be granted Level-3 access to the relevant Site block(s), including amenities.

PANDORA-8 is to be continuously powered at all times and without exception by an on-location nuclear power plant reserved solely for the electric consumption requirements of the containment sphere. Δ-quantity is held at a static ~28M.

Addendum 478-G: Review of Nucorp-provided documents ascertained a Nusphere remote correspondence update, detailing an RPC-478 damage report from ALTR-V41 in which the RPC Authority failed to survive its developmental years, and Nucorp Industries was not founded. This damage report was chronicled to have elapsed prior to RPC-478's containment, when the Nusphere was providing updates on RPC-478's repeated transdimensional relocation. RPC-478 was detailed to have accrued Δ-quantity to an extent that no longer allowed accurate approximation. Liaisons within ALTR-V41 stopped reporting to the Nusphere network, and probes entering into the reality (principally Manchester, England) documented no signs of life, and that the city was in a state of complete infrastructural dissolution.

Continued probes across ALTR-V41 demonstrated the overwhelming pervasion of RPC-478-Δ, and complete infrastructural dissolution of all six inhabited continents. No life signs could be confirmed. Manifestations of humanoid Δ-formations were observed proportional to the population densities of the formerly-inhabited regions. Δ-formations were observed to be composed of incredibly-finely-sized RPC-478-Δ, which permitted the construction of complex and solid structures. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the details of the observed structures.

ALTR-V41's damages were not added to the Nusphere remediation total and were thus omitted, under the justification that there "would be nobody to make use of the funds."

Subsequent to the pertinent information of the foregoing, RPC-478 has received reclassification.
